Microsoft and 343 Industries have announced the release of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary for the PC. In order to celebrate this announcement, Microsoft has also released a new trailer that you can find below.
Halo: CE Anniversary is now looking better than ever at up to 4K UHD and at 60+ FPS. The game also supports other PC native settings like customizable mouse and keyboard support, ultrawide support, FOV customization, and more.
Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary features new and improved graphics. However, the game also comes with an option to toggle between the remastered graphics and the graphics from the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign.
In Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, players will experience the second chapter in the Halo saga. Players will fight their way as the Master Chief through 10 unforgettable missions.
Here is a synopsis of the game.
“After crash-landing on a mysterious ringworld known as Halo, the Master Chief is tasked with helping the remaining humans survive against the overwhelming Covenant forces. While doing so, he and Cortana uncover Halo’s dark secret and fight to protect all life in the galaxy.”
We’ll be sure to share some 4K screenshots from it in the coming days, so stay tuned for more. Until then, enjoy the following PC trailer!

John is the founder and Editor in Chief at DSOGaming. He is a PC gaming fan and highly supports the modding and indie communities. Before creating DSOGaming, John worked on numerous gaming websites. While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. John has also written a higher degree thesis on the “The Evolution of PC graphics cards.”

be sure to check the classic render mode and tell us if they fixed the lighting and its no longer like the botched pc version by gearbox.
No they didn’t, still the old broken Randy’s port, classic rendering doesn’t have specular lighting, bump mapping only work when you cast light on textures, fog is broken, no dynamic shaders, no water ripples… I don’t know for the AI issues tho, some of the issues of the port migrated to the Anniversary Edition too like the broken fog, better use Refined Mod on the CE if you own it to get the best classic experience.
AE is compensating with better assets, textures and effects tho…
Hell it’s a PC port of a console remastered remaster ported from a sh*t PC port of a console game, so don’t expect so much especially after what they’ve done with Reach…
“it’s a PC port of a console remastered remaster ported from a sh*t PC port of a console game”
Yup!
Why play classic render aniways? Just play SPV3.
Unbalanced and high difficulty spikes, i enjoyed the most part of it, but i think it’s only good if you’re a die hard fan who has completed the original campaign several times and looking for a revisited way to experience it, if you’re looking for a nostalgia trip in the best way possible, Refined is the way to go
light are broke as always 😀
Is the sound is Halo Reach fixed yet?
nope…..don’t think so…
Not yet, they have to remix all the original 360 sounds all over again with better techniques, this may take a lot of time, however they’re aware of the issue and they said they will fix it
The same problem reportedly exists in this game too.

Ditto certain graphical effects being broken at higher resolutions due to them not scaling properly. smh
Nope. They knew since the flights but they released Reach anyway.
But hey, at least they didn’t forget Black History Month.
I only got the MCC to play the single player campaigns, I’ve never played Halo before, being a PC gamer since 2005, and PS2 before that, so the entire Halo stories is new to me.
Well that was a quick download, it’s done as I typed this. So time to have a look.
I will buy this collection only if they release Halo 5 and the upcoming Halo 6 on pc as well.
Halo 6 is confirmed to be on PC no word on Halo 5 though.
Just googled it and yes it will make it to the PC but not having 5 is a break in continuity for me.
5 is the worst one
but still you can play Reach to 4 (5 games) at current schedule i am certain they will release 5 along the way.
Splitscreen multi?
Another chapter on how incompetent 343 are
Ridiculous they expect you to buy the whole collection if this is the only game you want to play.
please stop spreading false information. you don’t have to buy the whole collection if you are only interested in halo CE. just buy the halo CE “dlc” on steam for $10.
says it requires MCC?
“In Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, players will experience the second chapter in the Halo saga. ”
I thought this was the first game, not the second?
Halo Reach is a prequel.
