Metal Slug and Castlevania fans, here is something special for you today. Gelato Games has announced Guns of Fury; a retro-inspired action platformer that blends Metal Slug with Castlevania. Guns of Fury will be released later this year on PC, and below you can find its debut gameplay trailer.
In this game, players will explore a vast interconnected world, gain new abilities and weapons, battle epic bosses and stop the plans of an evil corporation.
As you advance through the game, you will discover new items and abilities, as well as gain money to purchase new equipment from merchants. These will help you access new areas and battle more powerful enemies, including fearsome bosses.
Guns of Fury will have stunning 16-bit pixel art and environments you can destroy. The game will feature over 10 bosses and it will let players control different mechs, each with unique attacks and abilities.
As said, this is a must for all Metal Slug and Castlevania fans. For years players have been asking for such a game. And finally, we are getting one. So, don’t sleep on it.
Since this is a 2D game, it won’t require a powerful PC. The devs claim that you’ll at least need an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 or AMD Phenom II X2 550 with 2GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT or AMD Radeon HD 3870. So, rest assured that it will run on your potato PC.
Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!

Castlevania is as stupid as today's souls games. Mind-numbingly simplistic games that gathered a following under the illiterate who just want to mash buttons.
Metal Slug clones are also stupid but Switchtards love them.
Elden Ring actually brings back builds and you can play any way you want. Sekiro is more of a rhythm game. I don't know man, From still trying some stuff.
The followers tho…
Kill yourself.
Not my genre but looks tight.
ah thats my cup of tea
Basically a "vania" game with Metal Slug skin, challange not included.
It's Mercenary Kings again, you can't let anything just be an arcade game nowadays because zoomers need their menus and skinnerboxes, having too much actual gameplay scares them.
I really wanted to like Mercenary Kings, but the whole time limit, and having to spend about 8 minutes finding the boss, only for it to immediiately run away and run to the other side of the map with 2 minutes left on the timer killed the whole game. I don't think I ever made it past the 1st level.
Maybe it got fixed with a update/patch, but by that time I completely dropped the game and don't think I'll ever go back.
The one thing that seems odd with Guns of Fury is that it looks too….clean? It looks like that flash animation style and the whole modern-"retro" style just doesn't look that impressive.
that game sucked, this looks great.
Zoomers need their damn crafting mechanics too!
I'm amazed that apparently, this game has none. For now.
Maybe an update will "fix" this. lol
well, i dont like castlevnia but i liked the idea of metroidvania and metal slug.
Metroidvania Metal Slug? I'm in.
Graphics and animations look fantastic.
I highly doubt I'll like it, though.
Why did it have to be a Metroidvania, and not a simple run'n'gun?
I'm kinda tired of modern developers who think that adding more mechanics and content until you feel overwhelmed make their games better.
WRONG. It makes me want to uninstall them.
(Especially as a busy adult)
Metal Slug was great because it was a fast and intense arcade game.
I bet that the constant shooting and explosions in a Metroidvania, which is a genre well-known for having you explore massive maps during hours (+ going back and forth several times) is going to feel tiring and annoying very fast.
Especially since enemies will respawn, you can bet.
I'm even surprised he didn't add CRAFTING MECHANICS for damn zoomer gamers.
I mean, I even see crafting in freaking shmups, nowadays.
I bet that he was very tempted, though. Thank you for resisting this bloody trend!
Imagine playing "Crafting Slug" or something, where they have the players gather resources during 20 hours to be able to build their first cabin.
I'm sure that hardcore Metal Slug fans would appreciate. lol
Recently, I'm SO going back to emulation of 90s machines.
Might never come back. lol
So tired of modern gaming.
