Sony has just revealed the official PC system requirements for God of War: Ragnarok which will come out on September 19th. In addition, the publisher reconfirmed that the game will support the latest versions of all PC upscaling techniques at launch.
PC gamers will at least need an Intel i5-4670k or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GTX 1060 or AMD RX 5500 XT or Intel Arc A750. The game will also require 190GB of free disk space.
For gaming at 1080p/Medium with 60fps, you’ll need an Intel i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 with 16GB of RAM. For those settings, the devs suggest using an NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super or AMD RX 5700.
For 1440p/High with 60fps, you’ll need an Intel i7-7700K or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X with an NVIDIA RTX 3070 or AMD RX 6800. Do note that this is at native 1440p.
Finally, for the ultimate experience, Native 4K/Ultra with 60fps, you’ll need Intel i5-11600K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X with an NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti or AMD RX 7900 XT. As Sony noted, this is for “Average 60fps”, meaning that there might be some drops below it at some points.
As said, God of War: Ragnarok will support all PC upscaling techniques. In other words, there will be support for Nvidia DLSS 3.7, AMD FSR 3.1 and Intel XeSS 1.3 from the get-go. And yes, all of their Frame Generation solutions will be available.

There are definitely things like attitudes and misisons that I would not deny but nothing that deals with the the actual figures in the Christian religion/mythos like how you directly interact with the figures in God of War. A lot of your examples are more about how the characters/story/narrative feel about the religion, not Jesus Christ showing up and having a glancing blow with the protagonist the same way Kratos throws down with Ares or Baldur. Halo series for example is definitely a type of critique at fundamentalism of the middle eastern variety as I see it but they don’t have you shooting it out with any named historical prophets.
They do namedrop religious themes like covenant, flood, halo (mostly associated with bad stuff), so in a sense Master Chief (masonic title) is a anti-christ figure.

My original point is that I believe comparing ancient mythology depictions to hypothetical depictions of modern widely practiced religions is a false equivalency. I think a game that depicts recognizable significant events and figures of any modern practiced religion as characters you can fight and beat as a some random guy would see a lot of general backlash. Like I’m sure EA decided they were going to make “Biblical Boxing” or “Islamic Ice Hockey” people would be offended but they’re not doing that or when it does happen its censored like in the SMT games. This is mostly unconscious stuff, but a recent example is the church massacre in the movie kingsman, where the bigoted white church goers got mind controlled into becoming violent freaks.

The Klan was definitely an extreme example but it is the only antagonistic group I can think of that is associated with a modern religion in gaming outside of Op4 in Military Themed Shooters like COD4. I’d def have to research the BP or JDL for references. But ultimately I was saying that there is not really a popular game that has you interact with figures in a modern mythos or religion in the same way you do in the god of war games which is why people have less antagonism towards the changes in it.

The mind control was just an excuse for killing them, the agent sent there to investigate the church was mind controlled as well, and killed them all due to his training. I tought this game was exclusive to PS5. AAA games are just a burden nowadays, a mid range game is usually 30 gb which i already find too much, they should go back to making games for PS3/Xbox 360 standards and API and add higher assets as a optional download.
Definitely agree there about optional downloads for specific assets. I only know its on ps4 because a friend of mine who loves the whole series said it would be his third time purchasing it. I almost made fun of him for it before he said its the same for him as it was the rest of us and all the times we bought Skyrim multiple times. Thankfully there are still indie titles who can still make great games that don’t go too far like another crab’s treasure that I recently got into and it’s under 10gb too.

Honestly i would be ashamed having to admit that, what’s the purpose of buying same thing 5 times? Only time i did this was with the game Elite Dangerous which i own in 2 platforms, but 1 platform i got the game for free and the other i bought a deluxe edition at a discount so i could get an expansion i didn’t own.
In retrospect it is quite silly but I know my younger selves were able to squarely justify it each time. The first time was at release. The second time was for the 8th gen upgrade since there wasn’t backwards compatibility at the time. The third time was when I started doing more gaming on a rig. The fourth time was for the special edition upgrade. The fifth was definitely a waste and for the anniversary update on GOG.

They don't do like that nowadays, all repacks today are of the lossless variety. Once upon a time they would repack a game without music, cutscenes, etc.
No they still do this, fhd, 720p options are in some of the bigger games not all of them but they still do it. Kaos and others go even further like you're saying in some instances.

If you even want to play this… thing, you can always pick one of those sweet repacks that brings a single language pack.
Repacks are only worthy due to less download time, once you unpack it will be almost the same HD space.
Some games do not make you download all the language packs. This should be standard.
How much space does language packs take? I don't think it's that much, or at least it used to not be much.
once again I'll inform you. Some games have over 6gb PER language added so if you get the whole game w all the languages it can add 40gb+, it's one of the common things repackers split up to save space for dling. If you get downgraded videos and don't get bonuses and other stuff the game installs even lower sized then what the steam page says.
The bonus stuff is in most cases just 100 mb. Multilanguage games in the Xbox 360 era was 10 gb at most.

This is the reason I built my new rig. And I'm so glad I planned well. I have my 4080 Super, which will now be able to really stretch it's legs. I have my second NVME for game installs. And I have my Bose QC Ultra's for beaming the audio directly to my brain.

I think these requirements are very high considering the graphics in this game. The PS4 only had 1.8TF. For many years I was able to max out PS4 games on my 3.2TF GTX680 at 1080p. On my 1080ti (6x more TF compared to the PS4) even 4K 60fps was possible with maxed out settings. Now even 52TF 4080S (28x faster GPU) can barely run PS4 ports on PC at 4K. Even some RT games run much better on my 4080S than these latest PS4 ports and people over interned are still praising these PS4 ports on PC.
That's because on consoles, you have to eek every last bit of performance out of mid-range hardware (often times, outdated hardware). So you'll often get better "relative" and optimized performance.
But the graphics in the game aren't going to be the same as they are on PC. The graphics will be much better. That was the way it was with the first God of War port. And that's one of the reasons I didn't buy a PS5. I don't want 4K that looks like upscaled 1080p, running at 30 fps. Is there a resource hit/gap? Yes. Do I really care if it gets me a great looking game at playable framerates? No.
When I read/hear that the game on PC looks much better, I'm thinking of games like Cyberpunk (massively better lighting and assets quality). Some games on PC in the past even looked like a different game (they had different levels) compared to the console version, and I could actually say that they looked much better.
The first God of War on PC had some additional settings, but even in static screenshots I had a hard time noticing what they improved. I thought I was playing the same game, just with a higher resolution and frame rate, so from my perspective the difference between console and PC version was very small.
Supposedly the minimum settings for GOW Ragnarok are meant to replicate the PS4 experience, but GTX1060 is 3-4 times faster than the PS4 GPU. As for maxed out settings even 11TF 1080ti (my OC'ed asus strix run at 14TF out of the box) should have the power to run PS4 games at 4K with much higher settings. When I had 1080Ti I could play PS4 games at 4K with maxed out settings. Now I have 28x times faster GPU than the PS4 and theoretically I should he able to max out these PS4 ports at 16K, yet I barely get 4K 60fps in games like Ghost Of Tsushima. I can accept high requirements but I would expect to see some massive difference (RT or PT) that can justify much higher requirements, not just a little bit higher draw distance and texture settings that barely tanks performance anyway.

Set your monitor to 120Hz and capp the fps to 60fps ( on the settings your card can constantley run 60fps ) and the app will render the game in 120Hz without microstutter … as John would say then ;
