God of War: Ragnarok reportedly runs with 100fps at Native 4K/Max Settings on the NVIDIA RTX 4090

God of War: Ragnarok releases tomorrow on PC and NVIDIA has shared some benchmarks for it. According to the green team, this new GoW game runs with 100fps at Native 4K/Max Settings on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090.

It’s worth noting that we don’t know the scene that NVIDIA used for its benchmarks. So, there might be some other more demanding locations in the game. Still, these benchmarks should give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect from it.

For these benchmarks, NVIDIA used an Intel Core i9 14900K with 64GB of RAM and Windows 11-64bit.

As we can see, at Native 4K, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 pushes 99.8fps (which is basically 100fps). Then we have the NVIDIA RTX 4080 Super, offering 78fps. The NVIDIA RTX 4070Ti Super is also able to provide framerates higher than 60fps.

Since Sony has not provided us with a PC review code, we can’t verify these benchmarks. In the past, our numbers were really close to what NVIDIA has been showing. So, these numbers seem to be realistic. Let’s also not forget that God of War: Ragnarok was a cross-gen game as it came out on both PS4 and PS5.

From what we know, the game will support DLSS 3.7, FSR 3.1 and XeSS 1.3 at launch. As such, we’ll be sure to benchmark and compare these techs once it comes out.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. Not surprised with the performance since it uses its own engine and is one of the best optimised for PC. God of war ran great I've seen youtube benchmarks even on decade old fx 8350 so I'm pretty sure Ragnarok will run very well natively without any need for upscaling.
Fun fact : Jetpack interactive who have handed the PC version consists of former members of United front games who are best known for sleeping dogs which was great on pc

      1. Well, that cpu is dated brother and not even the high lineup of the fx chips. So can't blame the game, that cpu is old & I remember it having issues decade ago as well. For 8350 I can vouch, it actually runs it playable at high settings on a 1060. https://youtu.be/_lenrPY0BYk

      2. My previous reply wasn't verified by mods as I attached the link to that video. So, you can Google it specifically, there's a video of it and performance is acceptable paired with a gtx 1060. Fx 6300 is very old though, so I doubt it will fully utilise any gpu

  2. Won't be playing this denuvo and DEI infested garbage until modders fix it.
Edit: it doesn’t use denuvo, i thought they had it since it wasn’t cracked yet

      1. I remember trying the PSP ones when they had the demos and they turned me off. I gave this a try because my friend who’s a long time fan of the franchise gifted me a copy and I could see the hype for the current series too. I just need to find the time to give the older ones a chance.

        1. I think you should definitely play the psp ones. Don't sleep on them as they're very very good games just like the ps2 ones that's why they got the ps3 remasters. Especially, Ghost of sparta is really underappreciated, it's brilliant and graphics are great too.

          1. Nice. But you know, you can get it anywhere on the internet now. Just look for pkg archives they even come with updates. For all else, you can always get a psp rom and easily play 4k or 8k with ppsspp and it'll look great.

          2. Not only that but they push the PSP to the absolute limit, so much so that to this day it's a difficult to emulate game on mobile. Back in the day on the (relatively) tiny screen of the PSP it looked absolutely amazing, just like the PS2 games.

          3. Exactly it was reviewed well too. But i have no trouble running it on my nothing 2a plus, it's looks great and plays very smooth. Still I recommend running it on PC it'll runs on absolute toaster now as I remember it playing on a pentium d and gt 520 back then

        2. The PSP titles are the weaker in the series. Ignore them for now. You need to start with GoW 1! Great game! GoW 2 is like an expansion. Decent but not a true sequel. GoW 3 is the true sequel, one of the best action games ever made. Masterpiece. The build up to Gow 3 is incredible! And then you have Ascension. You can ignore that. It's like an expansion from Gow 3. Regarding the series, puzzle's will anger you (especially if you don't like them in general) but if you like an epic story with awesome gameplay and graphics God of War is a must!

          1. I’ll definitely set the time aside to give the rest of them a try, especially since it takes a minute for these sony pc ports to get on a decent sale. Im at the age now where if the puzzle is more than frustrating or arbitrary than satisfying enough ill probably just look up the answer now lol. Was super glad they let you turn off the lock picking mini game in Outlaws.

          2. I enjoyed all of them, but Ascension was awful. It's like they took GoW 3 assets and graphics and put it on top of a generic PS2 game with bland level design.

  3. So no one read the image?
It says "Super Resolution Performance Mode"
This is with DLSS on on performance mode and FG off.

Worse then 16 visually and performance wise lol.

  4. Honestly that should be the minimum considering this is a PS4 game running on a well optimized engine and ported by a dev very experienced in porting PlayStation to PC.
