Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has reported that Ghost of Yotei, Saros, and Marvel’s Wolverine may not come out on PC. According to Schreier’s sources, Sony has scrapped its plans to bring these games to the PC.
Schreier reports that Sony will pull back from releasing first-party PlayStation single-player games on PC. Online/Multiplayer games will still come out alongside their console versions. Similarly, third-party games that Sony will publish, like Death Stranding 2 and Kena: Scars of Kosmora, will still come out on PC.
To be honest, I’m surprised by the decision to cancel the PC versions of Ghost of Yotei and Marvel’s Wolverine. Ghost of Tsushima was the biggest single-player PlayStation release on PC when it came out. So, you’d assume that its sequel will do well on PC.
As for Marvel’s Wolverine, a playable PC build was leaked online back in 2023. In fact, a modding team has been polishing it to the point where you can play and enjoy it. At the end of the article, you can find a video for it. This PC dev build does not have the full game. Still, this is a working PC version of Marvel’s Wolverine. So, you’d assume it would be an easy layup to release Marvel’s Wolverine on PC, one year after its console release.
To be honest, I don’t buy the assumption that all the Sony games did not sell well on PC. As of early 2026, Sony has generated over $2.37 billion in revenue from releasing first-party PlayStation games on PC and other platforms.
In my opinion, the only valid reason for Sony to pull back from releasing its games on PC is the fear of the new Xbox running their first-party games. According to rumors, the next Xbox will use Windows and it will be more like a gaming PC. Or at least that’s what the rumors suggest.
It’s worth noting that Ghost of Yotei came out on PS5 in October 2025. So, realistically, we should not expect to see a PC version until October 2026. What I’m saying is this. If Sony does not bring Ghost of Yotei to the PC in 2026, we can assume that this report is valid. Until then, I suggest taking it with a grain of salt.
