Gears 5 is “biggest-ever launch for Xbox Game Pass for PC, Xbox Game Studios’ best-ever debut on Steam”

As we wrote in our PC Performance Analysis, Gears 5 is one of the most optimized PC games of 2019. And today, Microsoft announced that Gears 5 is the biggest-ever launch for Xbox Game Pass for PC. Furthermore, this latest part in the Gears of War series is Xbox Game Studios’ best-ever debut on Steam.

As Microsoft stated:

“On the PC, Gears 5 has nearly tripled the performance of its predecessor, becoming the biggest-ever launch for Xbox Game Pass for PC. It’s also Xbox Game Studios’ best-ever debut on Steam.”

Alongside its amazing performance/visuals ratio, Gears 5 comes with a number of accessibility features. These features include full controller remapping, single stick movement, Xbox Adaptive Controller support, narrated UI and menus, improved subtitles, and more.

It’s also worth mentioning that Gears 5 is available on the PC via the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. PC gamers can get one month for only $1 and play the game for at least one month. This is an offer that most PC gamers cannot miss, and we strongly suggest taking advantage of it.

          1. Microsoft don’t get much hate maybe because they don’t have much games to show for it, unlike Epic.

          2. Nah, none of them have much games to show for it, MS gets less hate because they always backpedal after first wave of hate they get and they are desperate unlike Epic’s endless chinese support.

          3. Winstore was supposed to be a big next thing, it failed like GFWL now their games are coming to Steam. let’s not talk about Xbone’s Always Online and tons of other fuc*k ups they did and backpedaled. should i count them for ya or you are going to pull that head out of the ground ?

          4. My biggest gripe is the Win10 exclusivity, which a lot of their games(not counting old rereleases) still has. Coudn’t care less about the stores they want to sell.

  1. Got it on Gamepass for $2. MS needs to fix Gamepass since download speeds suck. The 5 mb cellphone download speed is useless.

Can’t wait for a 10 year old Halo game to surpass this POS.

“PC gamers can get one month for only $1 and play the game for at least one month. This is an offer that most PC gamers cannot miss, and we strongly suggest taking advantage of it.”

I strongly suggest skipping this POS, or pirating it if you have morbid curiosity.

    1. ‘great” not really just because we hadnt had a dedicated third person shooter for a while and played mmo looter shooters that doesnt make it great. Its just that we hadnt had on of those games for a while

    1. What other games they have on Steam? The first halo wars or some old Age of Empire game? They seem to be comparing this game to Gears of War 4, but that game is not on steam. At least it appears Gears 5 beat high profile games such as Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive.

          1. I mean what is Gears 5 competition(among Microsoft studios) to be their most sucessful title to date on Steam?

Because there’s been sooooo much competition on the universally adored and hugely popular Windows 10 Store! Another day, another vacuous PR statement from Microsoft intended to impress the hard of thinking including games ‘journalists’ in the shill media looking for a cheap headline to justify another lazy article.

“It’s also Xbox Game Studios’ best-ever debut on Steam”
Rather than mentioning it as an afterthought that clearly should have been the lead story Microsoft’s PR team are pushing given that, unlike the above, it’s a somewhat meaningful achievement worthy of some recognition.

    1. The latter is honestly not that meaningful considering all Microsoft/Xbox Game Studios’ games have either been ports years after they came to Xbox or Windows Store, or the sloppy seconds of their catalog.

      1. Yep. Hence my carefully chosen wording of “somewhat meaningful” and “some recognition” as opposed to maybe ‘genuinely meaningful’ and ‘significant recognition’.

When no Forza Motorsport, no Forza Horizon, no previous Gears of War and no mainline Halo games have been on Steam then it renders Microsoft’s boast largely empty and meaningless.

Maybe they believe we should be impressed that the mega budget AAA blockbuster franchise game Gears 5 is selling more quickly than the less commercial titles they bothered to release on Steam these past several years like State of Decay, Ori and the Blind Forest, Ms Splosion Man, Lococycle, Kalimba and the like.

As you intimated, titles like Sunset Overdrive, Killer Instinct, Super Lucky’s Tale and Quantum Break came to Steam some time after their initial launch on Windows 10 Store so that serves to make Microsoft’s boast even less credible if that were even possible at this already very low point!

  4. yo, let’s start a trend in which we all post nice comments about trash games, epic game exclusivity and generally things that trigger average dsoger like battle royal, online connection and etc. it’d confuse the hell out of those who haven’t visited dsog for a while and it’d be funny as well.

  5. In EU it’s 70 euros = 76,97 USD. That’s a lot of cash for a crappy story campaign, bugs, unstable sever connections and mobile mictrotransactions BS.
Get Remnant: From the Ashes. It’s not a perfect, but it’s not a freaking rip-off like Gears 5.

Game Pass is worthless on PC. The Store is painfully slow and most people HATE IT.
