Turn10 has spilled the details on Patch 5.0, set to drop in February. The team promises some big PC performance improvements with this update. So, let’s check out all the cool enhancements they have in store for us.
Title Update 5.0 is bringing lots of under-the-hood improvements to make your gaming experience smoother. It will reduce the annoying CPU spikes and make better use of your GPU. As such, the game’s framerate will be more consistent when driving. It should also reduce stutters. Plus, Turn10 is fixing a problem where your framerate could go all wonky after changing video settings. The team will also fix another bug where players would see no performance boost when switching from high-quality to low-quality mode.
For what it’s worth, Turn10 has not revealed any upcoming performance improvements to DLSS 2 or FSR 2.0. Still, we’ll be sure to re-test the game once this update comes out. Hopefully, the game will scale better on high-end PC configurations.
Speaking of DLSS, PC gamers can also enable DLSS 3 via this method. However, I don’t know whether this upcoming update will break compatibility with it. There is also no word on whether Turn10 will add official support for FSR 3.0 or DLSS 3.
Alongside these PC performance improvements, Forza fans can also expect various gameplay tweaks and fixes. The update will also improve the game’s stability. As such, it won’t be crashing frequently on your PC. I personally never experienced any stability issues on our main PC system. Nevertheless, this is good news for those who had issues with it.
Finally, we don’t know the exact day this patch will come out. Turn10 will most likely reveal it next week. As always, we’ll be sure to keep you posted. And until then, you can go ahead and take a look at its full patch notes.
UPDATE:
Turn10 has just released Title Update 5.0. Alongside the following tweaks, fixes and changes, this new patch also adds the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Moreover, it brings new multiplayer events and new reward cars.

I’ve only had 1 crash.
Driving frame rates are fine with the right processor class (Alder Lake and above). The replays and cutscenes are overly demanding though. Wish they’d fix the busted tree textures in some replays. I’d also like to view my saved replays for more than 1 second at a time. There are just some many issues to this game. A step in the right direction though I guess.
Since the infamous GeForce NOW leak basically confirmed that GT7 will be released on the PC platform eventually, I’m looking forward to experiencing it on Valve’s next-gen VR headset, which will feature first-class support for SteamOS/Linux, where one can achieve the lowest latencies possible thanks to the proper real-time patchset to the kernel.
GT7 receives updates though, which was omitted in the DF comparison. originally GT7 wasn’t the same at launch. naturally all games that receive overhauls will fair better.
Game runs good for me in terms of frame rate, but the stutters and hitches ruin the experience. Turn 10 doesn’t know how to make PC games without stuttering. This has been an issue since FM6: Apex and they still haven’t figured it out. Yet, the Forza Horizon games run super smooth. Embarrassing. I don’t understand why they don’t just borrow one of the Playground Games engineers for a bit to fix it and show them how to optimize their games.
same to me, with a 4080 and a 7800x3d , the game has annonying microstuttering while racing and also on replays , meanwhile forza horizon 5 runs silky smooth without any stutter
this game is still in beta state
also, on the release notes, they said “improving performance and stutter and bla bla bla”
my performance on the benchmark is the same as before , 75 fps at 4k ultra and DLAA (rtao high instead ultra , +15fps)
It was my worst purchase of 2023! I still don’t know how they messed up so bad and it somehow had the green-light to ship!?! I have it still installed so that one day it might actually play decent and be “fun”.
I’ll probably just wait for it to receive an overhaul update, before getting into this new title. IMO, I think the motorsport series Could and probably should follow the Gran Turismo route and do similar overhaul updates. not a bad idea.
The Forza Horizon series on the other side is still my favorite, no complaints with the series. awesome gameplay, updates and atmosphere.

Still won’t change the fact that this entry of Forza pales in comparison to GT7, as shown by Digital Foundry:

This ain’t a patch, it’s continued development, should have been delayed by another year.
It was my worst purchase of 2023! I still don’t know how they messed up so bad and it somehow had the green-light to ship!?! I have it still installed so that one day it might actually play decent and be “fun”.
It MS, never ever buy their games day one.
And even then it would still be just a last gen looking racing game with very average physics model, “built from the ground up” my a*s…
Built from the ground up…..for XBSS, lol.
60fps on an xtx 1440p is f*king pathetic, not to mention the lack of popular race tracks.

yeah my performance is significantly more stable
No Fully single player offline campaign made me uninterested with this game at all
What a sh*t show. This game should have CRUSHED GT7. What were the turn 10 guys doing after all these years???
