First developer diary released for AO Tennis 2

Bigben and Big Ant Studios have unveiled a new video for AO Tennis 2, the second game in the official Australia Open series. In this developer diary, Big Ant’s passionate team welcomes us to their Melbourne office to give a behind-the-scenes look at the new features of the game.

For AO Tennis 2, the developers worked side by side with the team at Tennis Australia to offer a comprehensive and immersive simulation of the first of the year’s four Grand Slam events. Tennis lovers will have access to a completely accurate replication of the Melbourne Park sports complex and its three main courts, on which thousands of spectators witness incredible drama and athleticism every year.

The game aims to reproduce the atmosphere and intensity of the competition as things heat up in the peak of the Australian summer.

Furthermore, and to fully immerse yourself into the world of professional tennis, players need to prove themselves in the conference room and on the court. As part of the new career mode in AO Tennis 2, players will have to manage their reputation in front of the media and public. Just like in real life, tension is palpable during matches and outside the courts.

AO Tennis 2 will come out on January 9th, 2020.

Enjoy!

  1. I hope we can play as classic/legendary player from the past.. Agassi,Bjorn borg, John McEnroe, etc

    1. You should be able to play with player created content like the first game hopefully. I just want the game to play more like Top Spin 4 with the physics and player animations. I still play Top Spin 4 a lot using the RPCS3 emulator at 4k. AO 2 including the the whole Austrailian Open courts from the main draw to the weeds is cool. Hopefully game can be modded like Tennis Elbow 2013. The mods made that game so good other then the player models and animations. Virtua tennis still has the best arcade game-play with friends. We have not had a good tennis game in years and it’s crazy that the xbox one and ps4 era had horrible tennis games.
