Deep Silver today revealed ESCAPE Dead Island, a third-person single-player survival mystery spin-off that unravels the origins of the zombie outbreak and tells the story between Dead Island and the recently announced successor Dead Island 2.
Developed by Fatshark Sweden, ESCAPE Dead Island is scheduled for release in Autumn 2014 for the X360 and PS3 as well as Windows PC for a recommended retail price of £39.99 for the console versions and £34.99 for the PC version.
ESCAPE Dead Island is a survival mystery that follows the story of Cliff Calo, who sets sail to document the unexplained events rumored to have happened on Banoi.
“Arriving on the island of Narapela, part of the Banoi archipelago, he finds that not everything is as it seems. Haunted by deja-vus, Cliff will have to make sense of it all throughout the entire game – again and again. This story-driven adventure lets players delve into the Dead Island universe and unravel the origins of the zombie outbreak. Escape is only the beginning…”
ESCAPE Dead Island adds a completely new tone to the zombie universe with its cell-shaded visual.
Players will experience the secrets of the Dead Island universe, fight off zombies with a vast and unique array of weapons and open the path to the events that will happen in Dead Island 2.
Enjoy!

Not really feeling the graphics nor the 3rd person perspective, seems more like a quick cash in by slapping on the Dead Island name , should’ve gone with a $20 price mark and download only title.
Looks like those crappy downloadable games…which are barely finished or polished. Reminds me of Afterfall Insanity… and any game that does that is doing something seriously wrong! 😛
Agreed, Some games like Blood dragon and Gunslinger work perfectly as a downloadable only title’s but when a game like this tries to go retail I can only see this not selling.
Can’t wait to see how Dead Island 2 is pulling off L.A which really caught my eye with the reveal.
ooh, blood dragon and Gunslinger were fantastic. Great experiences.
Yeah, this on the other hand… not so much.
also after what appears to be Aaron Paul in the trailer for Di 2, and if he does end up being one of the cast, I’ll be disappointed if there isn’t some kind of a magnet gun that makes him yell … yeeeah, magnets bi###!
why did you have to pick up that trash? Seriously most budget games i played are fine like coj gunsliner, then theare are some trash.
Never said I picked it up. I had to review that crap, so got a review copy.
seems to me the game is DIFFIRENT but they had to call it dead island to get sales.
Looks like a tablet game. Nobody noticed where that carpet design is from?
Looks ok… might get it when its on sale but not at full price.
