  1. How about do all this stuff before moneyhatting exclusives for your bare-bones & anti-consumer store and permanently turning off customers from ever buying on it.

Also maybe not spy on them as well.

      1. Are you sure, cause all the sites, all the youtubers, all the articles talked about how they send data to chinese government. Other people talked about how their account is hacked weekly. If you dont know the facts then dont say anything. Its been proven and shown evidence.

        1. yea im sure the chinese goverment are really interested on the players playing fortnite. ffs youve got the NSA spying on everything, facebook listening on your cellphone constantly but youre worried about a game spying on you? lol

          1. I guess you dont know how the world works, if you dont understand simple data mining.

          2. data mining will happen anywhere, or you think the NSA arent watching the people on steam for some reason?

  2. If they deliver on those aims then the Epic Store will put Microsoft’s Windows 10 Store and any digital store Nintendo has ever done to shame. Not that it bothers me because I’ll only ever use Epic Store for the free games while pirating anything else that’s worth my while.

    1. I just delete the client today after 4 years of having it on my PC, i decided to send it to hell. I had absolutely no reason to have this launcher. I realized this is pure cancer and i’m not supporting it man. I was all behind sweeney when he stood up to the windows 10 store then came 2018, Nah son………. I thought the free games was a reason to reinstall and keep the damn thing but nope, i don’t even play any of that stuff, therefor i don’t care.

        1. And you don’t need to know. Its the most barebones rubbish you’ve ever seen. It looks like it was created with sticks & stones. The client has been around for 4-5 years and it’s just now making changes. Talk about too little, too greedy & too late.

          1. when i was a kid, diablo 2 was my favorite game of all time so you can guess how much i wanted a diablo 3 and when it happened it required internet connection all the time beside a mandatory launcher. to this date, i haven’t played diablo 3 yet so you can tell whether i’m going to install epic’s launcher at some point or not.

      1. You had the launcher on your PC all that time so, er, did you just out yourself as a closet Fortnite superfan? Guilty as charged! Tarring and feathering to commence shortly!

Joking aside, the only free game of any note so far has been Subnautica so maybe once I’m done with Metro Exodus (thanks, CPY) I’ll play that game and then delete the launcher.

        1. Nah brother, I don’t play online only/PvP games. I got the launcher originally because they were giving away Shadow Complex Remastered back then and I wanted to try Paragon. Then I realized Paragon was a movable and I don’t play those either. But I was willing to give something new a try. I also did try the ACTUAL Fortnite when it was in alpha, DECIDED that too wasn’t for me but I never played that battle Royale Mess. I’m gonna pass on that one. Haha, you tried to put me on that “Blast Of Shame”. Always working I see ?

          1. I must confess to having played Fortnite once before uninstalling albeit that was on mobile just because I was curious to see how it played in its 60fps mode on my shiny new iPhone.

  3. So now these Walmarts pretending to be necessary as launchers are getting this “road map” PR vomit from marketers. Don’t even care to look at any of that. As someone who just buys and plays games and doesn’t care about extra inflated features that can be pushed out on a separate app if they cared enough to do so for those who want all those bells and whistles – I just want to buy the damn game and gtfo FROM MY CHOICE OF STORE. Don’t tell me where to buy.

Let me know when they go back to being stores with competitive pricing, instead of disingenuously posing to be something more, or a requirement, to keep me shopping there just to push their domination agenda and lock people into their closed console-like 3rd party exclusivity trash on the OPEN pc platform.

  4. Haze, the one and only Halo killer, lol, is coming to ES. at this point and valve trying to censor negative reviews for DRM and changes in EULA they all can burn in hell. competition is very good guys, yeah no s**t, for the dev/publishers it is. they compete to be worst for end user.

    >Epic’s mid term goals to enable User Reviews.
It’s not the user reviews as we know, it’s optional, for the devs of course.

  5. So instead of this they started bribing developers, yeah sure….” I will trust such company”, not to mention client is a living malware.

    1. Not to mention opt in reviews on the developers end is a deal breaker. We have too many companies that hate gamers already.

  6. Better block your Metro Exodus files in firewall bois, Epic Spies are collecting your data.
In game files there is even a file telemetry.dll that connects to somewhere which is not even a Epic or 4A server, location

      1. Yes, But not just the fortnite kids, you see these tools all the time on all of these threads “wah its 1 click herp my der”

The PC market was entirely full of casuals almost a decade before Fortnite ever came out. And that’s because of Steam.

    1. Yes, that’s what happens when you have a printing press like fortnite. You can just print money all damn day. Tim Sweeney better use his money wisely cause that battle Royale bubble won’t last forever.

    2. And Sweeny’s hypocrisy. He accused Microsoft of the same behavior Epic does. Microsoft is releasing the Halo collection to Steam while Epic continues to bribe developers into its walled garden.

  7. Well it’s good but steam has had that for what now 5-10 years ? So why wouldn’t they include it from the get go. I mean all of those features are now considered « basic ». But still a good move.

    Staying loyal to steam tho.

  8. It’s not enough that games release broken and unfinished with “roadmaps” but now launchers too. HAHAhAHA you can’t make this sh*t up.

  9. Yes, that’s what happens when you have a printing press like fortnite. You can just print money all damn day. Tim Sweeney better use his money wisely cause that battle Royale bubble won’t last forever. Tim was calling out Microsoft for its draconian practices via UWP/Windows Store. And now we see who the true villain of the story is, en given the chance. TIM SWEENEY, that KUNT.

  10. so many negative comments. i for one im glad theres some competition coming for steam, the client sucks to the point its better to just use a web browser due to how bad it is (and also because it actually is a limited web browser)

    1. I don’t know why people like you are seeing this as a Steam vs _insert store here_. This is bigger than that. Not everyone worships Steam you know.

    2. Steam had competition for years with GOG, Origin, Uplay, and Epic has brought nothing new other than shady behavior.

Epic has also lagged behind the curve despite all of that fornite money. They have only added features in response to criticism, which shows they are not really interested in proving a good customer experience.

      1. origin and uplay arent competition since theyre just adding their own games to the stores AFAIK. epic is the first one that tries to get games from elsewhere

as for GOG yea but most AAA games skip GOG i think due to it not having DRM or something

  11. Things that would be there from the start because they are already a standart of the market… This roadmap is just a bunch of promises they could break any time.

  12. Have they added Linux support and the ability to download the install files for my games like Itch .io and GOG ? If not then they still won’t have my business.

  13. I don’t care if EGS comes with a hologram of Cortana that will blow you. Never using it. Ever. Literally nothing they could ever do would ever make up for the insult of bribing developers to inconvenience customers and risk their security. And not just them. Julian Gollop, THQ, Deep Silver, 4A are all on my permanent no buy list now. And probably Flying Wild Hog, too, considering a Chinese company just bought them, so I can guarantee you their next game goes EGS. Not sure why this happened, why would Devolver not buy them.

    1. Now that’s being way to fair to UbiSoft. I can deal with Origin but the UPlay DRM is garbage that serves no purpose. Not to mention UbiSoft’s obsession with games that are tied to online gameplay.

  14. Unfortunately gamers are fickle children but also lack any dedication to anything.

Not enough people care about what Epic has done.
