It appears that a remastered version of Modern Warfare 2 is on its way. PEGI has rated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, hinting towards a Remaster version for the game’s single-player campaign mode.
As its description reads, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is a combat simulation game in which the player takes the roles of various members of a Special Operations team attempting to thwart the plans of a Russian.
The game has been PEGI 18 which restricts availability to adults only, and this rating has been given due to strong violence and the use of sexual expletive.
Now the PEGI page for the PS4 version lists a February 28th, 2019, release date but as you may have guessed this looks more like a placeholder date and nothing more.
Our guess is that this remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s campaign mode will be included in the Call of Duty 2019 game. As such, we seriously hope that the promised single-player campaign that Activision hinted for the new Call of Duty game is not this remastered version of Modern Warfare 2.

MW2 is what started the downfall of COD for me.
MW2 was a 6.5/10 game
-Short as hell 4-6 hour campaign of which much made no sense even if it had good production values.
-Godawful broken multiplayer
-The Coop mode was pretty good when it worked
After that every Call of Duty was irredemeable trash, and I say this as someone who bought Black Ops at full price 9 years ago.
Never managed to finish the single player of MW2. Too generic to boring.

I agree, the sole exception being Spec Ops.
Specs Ops was really well designed and it’s really enjoyable, even in Solo play.
It’s not a sh*t mode that’s enjoyable because you’re having fun with a friend, it’s enjoyable because it’s well designed and coop enhances that.
Yeah, it had truckloads of content in multiplayer but it became tiring when next installments of CoD were also filled to the brim with new skins, attachments, etc. And it was getting more and more ridiculous every year.
And I found the campaign very good but maybe that’s because I was young. It had much fluff and little to no substance and was really scripted. Also, the story was kinda stupid.
It was the best one, IMO. Single player was fun and entertaining, and I put a good 6-7 months (edit: actually 12 months as we played online right up to MW3) of multiplayer time in. It’s what started the rise of CoD for me.

Can’t wait for a rerelease of a 10 year old game that still looks good and that has people still playing it.
Can’t wait for it to completely ignore the artistic design of the orginal game, changing the atmosphere of the levels completely and I can’t wait for the multiplayer maps to be locked behind DLC plus microtransactions.
Yeah, I’ll totally preorder an even bigger piece of a shit game for that.

if they released a game called classic CoD with all the best multiplayer maps from CoD4-Black Ops 2, itd be a dream.

MW2 had the best multiplayer of the entire series IMO. Unbalanced maybe, but very fun. Shame this will most likely only be the single player campaign.
It absolutely did. The guns were pretty much perfect.
Probly the most fun I’ve ever had in mp, aside from Raven Shield.

I’m not a fan of COD games but they are still some of the best selling games. People can’t wait for the next one out. Activision won’t kill the series until they’ve milked it for all it’s worth.
Infinite Warfare was a comfy space war tbh, more world building would’ve been nice though.
Back when this company put serious effort to creating memorable single player campaign…and now it’s gone..
And it will probably be $40 like the first Modern Warfare Remaster even for people that have already bought it one time. Activision is the worst about putting their games on sale.
The most fun I had playing fps online when I was young. So many hours… This one was the height of CoD for me.
