During BlizzCon 2017 Blizzard revealed a brand new cinematic trailer, showing off the next expansion to the God-father of all MMO RPG’s. The new expansion has been titled Battle for Azeroth.
Arguably the face of the MMO/RPG’s World of Warcraft gets a brand new cinematic trailer and as per usual it’s absolutely incredible to watch even if you aren’t a World of Warcraft die-hard. From what I know of the new expansion is that Blizzard will be allowing for Horde players to travel to three zones set in the island of Kul Tiras. Players will have a main goal of trying to recruit new “allied races” for which they will be able to play.
Blizzard are also innovating and pumping out fresh content for this expansion. The new “islands” system will make players team up as a party of three to adventure and explore new areas where the situation and enemies are different each time. Another introduction by Blizzard is “Warfronts” which is where a group of 20 players will team up and fight for a strategic location related to their faction.
Battle for Azeroth will have a new level cap of 120 with a purchasable boost of 110. Of course their isn’t a set release date but we can assume that it would be sometime next year as each expansion previously has been around 18 to 24 months.

Hello! My name Jak Connor I’m based in Australia and I picked up PCgaming as child when I was around ten years old. I mostly played RTS games back then, putting many hours into Age of Empires 1/2 and Age of Mythology. My love for PC gaming grew and stayed with me as I now have a passion for gaming and the amazing technology jumps developers show us all the time. I pledge that I will be bringing you fine people of DSOgaming the most unique and interesting news I can find!
Goosebumps. Blizzard has done it again. The last WoW cinematic to give me goosebumps was Mists of Panderia. And before that, Wrath of the Lich King.
i quit the game since 2 years , but i dont this Aidan he look so vanila not like his father 🙂 !
Same. legion had me for a bit, but I quit halfway, same with WoD, but I am feeling MoP type vibes from this expansion. Hopefully it’ll keep me with it the whole journey this time.
Seriously? The Pandaria Cinematic was a joke. A semi-funny joke, but still a joke nevertheless…. At least the Warlords Cinematic was awesome, regardless of how sh*t the expansion itself ultimately was.
blizzard still relevant?
More that you.
i was relevant?to who and when?
Nobody is relevant.
i am a very important person, no one is allowed to disrespect me like this.
i watched the trailer, what a load of nonsense, just pure violence and childish nonstop action, very predictable of a game making company that has deep roots in history of violent video games.
“Jesus wills this game be banned”
lmao what?
i’m an activist from a popular facebook page called moms against violent video games, i’m strictly against violence and their existence in video games.
You need help
you have humans and cats as good guys and then brute orcs as bad guys, orcs get inspired to look badass then exact same thing happens to humans and their perfectly attractive looking leader inspire them and then cinematic stops at middle of fight because no one should win since i’m assuming both sides have their fans and they’ll be crying about it if one side wins. very generic and predictable of video game industry.
world of warcrap, i thought this facade ended years ago?
Well colour me interested. I’ve been waiting for another great war, besides the piddling little squabbles between the few demons and factions scattered about the world.
I’m also a fan of pirates and the game seems to be having some yo-ho’s in there.
Though for the life of me I can’t quite figure out how this is supposed to fit into the Lore, considering they just engaged the Burning Legion on Argus itself, didn’t they? So why would they be engaging in petty squabbles & thus wasting resources at such a critical point in time?
Either way, well, people have wanted Warcraft 4 for, what, 15 years, now? Well, there we go….. somewhat.
Because Gen is an dork who still believes that Anduin can be exactly like his father, from the old times, before he decided to trust the Alliance, and he seems to have softened him up to that idea (as seen in the cinematic).
Don’t forget that, though they fought together against jaden and the gang, they had no other choice, as a divided planet would have easily been decimated by the BL. With the big 3 demons and Gul’dannny out the way, the war puts focus back on what the horde and Alliance did to one another since the Cata times. Jaina is definitely on the war path, going back to her homeland to convince them to join back with the Alliance, while the horde, for some reason are seeking out yet another troll kingdom to either destroy or rally to their cause.
The Alliance taking back Lorderon sounds more like Gen’s plan than Jaina’s, something to get Anduin into shape for his role as king of SW. Then after that battle, I imagine the Horde will set fire to the world tree (as seen for an instance), as a result of that battle. The war has always been against orcs and humans, it’s just changed over the years to include other races to each side of the table, only now this war is all about what side did what to the other and paying their dues. The next exp I believe will have us facing the voidlords in space.
This exp is mostly going to have Gen pulling some strings, with jaina descending further into madness (she seriously looks F*ucked up in that gameplay trailer), while Sylvanas having to come to terms with her mortality and having to really put her back into leading the horde to it’s continued struggle for survival.
Big announcement was classic Wow servers. Vanilla wow is coming to retail. They can easily add Legion models a sharpening filter, HBAO+ and SSAA to Vanilla to make it look modern as well. I played on Vanilla private servers with Legion MPQ models. Vanilla WoW is made for Twitch and it will be huge.
“Oh sh*t, our subscription numbers are too low. Oh well, now we finally have to actually give people what they’ve wanted for a decade, now!”
It’s funny if you go to the WoW reddit. Classic server announcement. 44.9 k upvotes. New expansion announcement with trailer. 8.3 k upvotes.
13 years and people are still playing WOW. I gave it a try around 5 years ago and found it to much grinding but there’s no denying that a lot gamers liked the game.
thank you
