Awesome Games Done Quick has launched last week its annual speedrunning marathon. Today, this marathon came to the end and AGDQ has set a new record by raising more than $3.1 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
In this year’s event, AGDQ had speedruns for three of the best 2019 games; Control, Devil May Cry 5, Sekiro and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening 2019 Remake. Alongside these games, there were also some classic speedruns like the NES versions of Mega Man, Donkey Kong Country 3 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
I personally enjoyed the Control speedrun which was full of glitches and out of bounds tricks. The team-speedrun for Super Mario Maker 2 was also amazing, as was the DOOM 2016 speedrun. Moreover, the “2 players 1 controller blindfolded” speedrun for “Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!” was amazing.
You can find the entire speedrun marathon event below (in case you missed any of the aforementioned speedruns).
Enjoy and congrats to AGDQ!

Awesome news. Playing games and helping cancer research, what’s not to like
the organization behind it. also possible money laundering that has been alleged many times but I never saw proof.
What did they do?
P.S. here is one such allegation about money laundering for the democratic party via anonymous donations, no proof of course:

Excellent!
Until I read these comments I didn’t even know that the organization behind it is apparently so bad. But oh well. I support the runners and the charity that they are doing. Always, always fun to watch these runs.
Friendly reminder that Awesome Games Done Quick is SJW.

They banned a dude for liking vox’s (spanish party) economic policy and mocking feminaaaaazys and pronouns.
Clearly a political ban.
Autism done quick
Ya, I love the work AGDQ does and it’s the sort of thing I’d normally be interested in watching, but there’s been so many incidents of them banning runners and audience members for wrong think that I won’t watch.
I’d laugh heartily if somebody turns their own ‘logic’ against them by pointing out that the real-life Mike Tyson from the featured game, Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!, is a convicted r@pist. The hypocrisy of using said game while busy virtue signalling and banning people in relation to feminism. Seems they ought to have banned themselves first!
First time I skipped most of the event. Not enough entertaining games in the schedule, and their weird focus on creating a safe space for transgenders (including the fluid gender mascot and mentioning preferred pronouns) turned me off completely.
Even TASbot wasn’t that interesting to watch sadly.
