Today a new trailer for the upcoming Ubisoft instalment into the Assassin’s Creed series, this trailer showing off gameplay and gives players a chance to look at the enemy creeping in the shadows – Order of the Ancients.

Ubisoft are very well known for the amazing work on trailers and also, sadly, there not-so-good follow through on their games once they are released. Assassin’s Creed: Origins no doubt is getting me hyped for the game but I can’t help to think it’s going to be another flop, thus in result causing me to not pre-order the game.

Don’t get me wrong, the first two Assassin’s Creed games are some of my favourite games of all time but as the series went on I personally felt the amazement that the first two games left me with was short-lived, or just not as apparent in the other instalments to the franchise.

I look at this game and where it is set and the characters that we have already seen and can honestly say that there is so much that Ubisoft can do here, so much to utilize just based off the setting and the specific time in history. This makes me anxious as the game could truly go south on launch or it could be the most unique Assassin’s Creed yet.

  1. Still no footage for the PC version. All Ubi has been doing is riding all on that X1X PR. I imagine they will make some super hammed up “60 duper fps, unlocked frames, powerful super textures!” type trailer, like they did with TD trailer for PC as well as WD2.

      Xbox X have 12 GB GDDR5 memory (326 GB/s) – memory is bigger and faster than in GTX 1080. Xbox developer kits have 24 GB of video memory… On current PC hardware it’s not possible to have better textures than on Xbox X. You need wait for graphics cards with 16-32 GB of video memory

        1. Yes it has thanks to HDMI 2.1.

          You probably doesn’t know than HDMI 2.0 have too low bandwidth to transfer data for more than 4K 30fps HDR. Its not possible to show 4K 60fps with HDR on standard HDMI 2.0 because it need transfer to much data per second. You need compress colours if you want use slow HDMI 2.0. There are 2 different compress algorithms supported by TV both with lower quality than uncomressed original signal.

          Next time use Google or read Wikipedia and check difference between HDMI 2.1 and HDMI 2.0. You need also read about compression on low bandwidth connections like HDMI 2.0

          2. What our dear Microsoft console fanboy conveniently omits to mention is that DisplayPort 1.4 will also add support for 8K resolution at 60Hz, 4K resolution at 120Hz and HDR. He also, somewhat amusingly, appears to believe that HDMI 2.1 will remain exclusive to Microsoft and it’s mediocre impending new console.

            Oh, and in addition to all that he fails to mention that for Xbone X owners to take full advantage of HDMI 2.1 then they need a TV featuring said connection. The amount of TVs currently on the market that feature such a connection? Zero.

          4. The problem is that context is key here, they may have been talking about the colour space, as early HDMI 2.0 devices can’t do ycbcr 4K/60 4:4:4, they could only do 4:2:0.

        They seems able to maxed some areas (face and jacket for example), and other are very close to the PS4 Pro, which is funny for such “powerful” console…

          He sure is. This must be the fourth or fifth time he’s spammed that wilfully disingenuous silly picture.

          Like any obedient corporate slave he can only parrot the PR of his corporate overlord while deliberately avoiding the reality, i.e. the actual results delivered. Just like with Sony’s PS4 Pro we’re seeing game devs, Digital Foundry and others all confirming that games on Xbone X of any real ambition are,

          – 30fps
          – using lower resolutions to display certain effects
          – using checkerboad rendering
          – using dynamic resolution scaling
          – using pared back graphics settings relative to PC

          Regardless of what the deluded fanboys may be hoping for Xbone X is just another 30fps console. A moderately improved Xbone, if you will. Just like PS4 Pro is relative to PS4.

          In fairness to Microsoft, their impending new console will be delivering ever so slightly improved visuals at a more stable 30fps frame-rate relative to PS4 Pro but that’s the very least one should expect given the time between their respective launches.

          It’s more than embarrassing for Microsoft. Fanboys like Sp4ctr0 are predictably doing their best at damage limitation on behalf of their corporate overlord just like they did in the run-up to the launch of the abysmal original Xbone. Groundhog day…

Other folk here have previously speculated that he’s paid to shill for Microsoft given that he’s shilled for numerous Microsoft products these past few months, e.g. Windows, DirectX 12, Xbone X, UWP, Microsoft Studios game franchises, Windows 10 Store and sales promotions at said Microsoft store.

            I can only presume that John hasn’t yet banned him because his silly comments almost always elicit a response and thus help boost activity in the comments sections. Sadly, while it may boost site traffic in the short-term it also means that DSOG is being tainted.           5. Xbox One 2013, PS4. PS4 Pro – have less memory and blurred textures. Developer use depth of field to hide those low detail textures.

          5. Microsoft hasn’t disclose “cpu” bandwidth yet. One cluster of the old jaguar cores could theorically use 20.8GB/s in each direction.

      3. The memory is not faster than a GTX 1080, as it uses GDDR5X at 10GBPS(some are 11GBPS) XB1X uses GDDR5 with a wider bus, and no the memory is not “bigger” 9Gb is for games, that 9 Gb isn’t all for VRAM. Also, the GTX 1080 is overclockable, easy get +500Mhz on the memory.

      1. We don’t even know, because most of the time, Ubisoft have been showing off the console versions, with little talk about the PC version and how it looks/performs.

        For all we know it could be a port of either of the Pro versions, rather than a straight up PC version first and console versions being watered down to what they can handle, this is Ubisoft we’re talking about.

      1. Look at the size of Alexandria. Memphis & Cyrenaica. Then look at how many zones are labelled “[Insert] Desert” or “[insert] Sand” & how big they are, meaning that 90% of the NPCs (and by extension the game itself) are going to be focused around the cities themselves, whereas 90% of the game is going to be big, white, empty dunes of multi-coloured sand, with many a “Pyramid Exploration DLC” shoved in somewhere – assuming you bought the right platform & thus actually have access to it, in the first place, that is.

        Oh & it doesn’t look like they’ll be taking major advantage of the sea, probably just the harbours themselves as they’ve already showcased, instead of putting on an anti-pirates campaign. Of course, I might be wrong, but we’ll see.

        Dishonored 2 went to $hit when the original lead developer left and they got stuck with the cuck master Harvey Smith

        poor writing, racial and gender quota’s aside, the expansion is pretty short
        it’s about 5 missions+ the tutorial
        gameplay as great as it always was, but the script, voice acting and delivery all suck

            Yep, the first Dishonored was a wonderful game that, on PC at least, ran buttery-smooth at highest setting on modest hardware. I’ve not yet bought the sequel because the demo I played was so abysmally optimised. If they’ve patched it properly since the demo then I may pick it up in a future sale.

            Yep, ‘diversity’ for the sake of the diversity agenda so to pander to SJW Leftist politics guarantees I won’t be spending my money on a product if I can avoid doing so. When the background of a videogame character brings something of value to the story and general experience then I’m all for it, e.g. the very well realised character Lee Everett in the first game of The Walking Dead franchise. Like any free-thinking person I’m all for interesting story-telling but tokenism is something that serves no benefit to anybody other than SJWs.

            P.S. I just read elsewhere about the Kek ‘scandal’ with Destiny 2. Hilarious! Sadly, Activision caved in to the hysterical demands of SJWs and indulged in some pathetic virtue-signalling of their own but it was damned funny while it lasted!

          The problem being with other semi-contemporary writers of the age claiming they were otherwise for whatever reason/s, like with the question of Alexander I of Macedon (an ancestor of The Alexander), who wanted to compete in the Olympics, but was forced to prove his Hellenic ancestry first in order to be allowed to do so, as only Greeks were permitted to compete in the Olympic Games back then. This was also recorded by Herodotus, on the matter;

          ” [5.22] Now that the men of this family are Greeks, sprung from Perdiccas, as they themselves affirm, is a thing which I can declare of my own knowledge, and which I will hereafter make plainly evident.           So yeah, ultimately Herodotus proved him Greek, but I doubt if a waive of his hand suddenly resulted in universal acceptance of that, nor of the matter of what your everyday non-royal Macedonian is or is not, rather than merely what the Royal Family itself is.

          Of course it’s plausible that the Peninsular Greeks vilified the Macedonians in order to rile up more support against Macedonia’s incursions into the Peninsula (it’s a theory historians have, especially in regards to the Athenians), but who knows, ultimately. The Macedonians were not considered Greeks because in order to be Greek at the time you had to be civilized, to live in a city state and have democracy. Which Macedonians did not. The same could be said about Spartans, but they are descendants of Hercules and their descendants the Maniots have proven their ancestry and their Greekness in multiple wars.

            In the end Alexander created an empire and conquered all the Greek states one by one, same way Rome did later. Rome was smaller than Greece with smaller army, lower population and GDP. The very existance of Alexander the Greek and his ancestors are the reason why we know all those things about the Greeks and Romans and Cesair simply copied him as he was inspired by him. All of that lead to the western civilization and what we have today.

By comparison, his Danish successors were weaklings who’s power was limited by the elected Parliament & psychotic nutters like Venizelos – not that they would probably have been particularly good rulers regardless, in my opinion, but who knows…. They did try to keep Greece neutral during the War, after all.

            By comparison, however, Otto had two military veteran successors (his other brother having already died before him) ready to succeed him to the throne, both of which would have most definitely handled the Greeks far better than the Danish Monarchs ever did – not that they ever had the chance to, unfortunately.

            Ah, but counter-argument; you don’t necessarily need to be Greek to speak & write in Greek; The Romans prised & valued Greek slaves, even going so far as to educate their upper social classes in the Greek tongue, but they still preferred their native Latin. Of course, that’s not to say Alexander & the Macedonians didn’t speak Greek, there’s no question of that, but yeah.

            Though, overall I’m of a more balanced opinion; if you give a Monarch absolute power with inherited rule, you’re just asking for something to go wrong, at some point, somewhere. Whereas, if you give a Monarch near-absolute power with the creed that his/her successors must be chosen based on merit, rather than “because they were born into it”, then you can get actual results, even if you have an elected Parliament, Senate, or [insert] to answer to (see: The Five Good Emperors).

The system has been designed specifically so that they in power can choose who gets to be accountable & when it’s not up to them, it’s up to a Defence Attorney that has to decide whether or not “doing the right thing” will negatively affect his/her career in the future, or not. After all, the most successful DA’s go on to become Judges, who go on to become even more important Judges, etc. Or, alternatively, it’s up to a Judge who’s up for re-election soon, so why piss off major backers?

            Now how is that not f*cked up.     Indeed. I remember that when old media last attempted to bury Pewdiepie his total number of YouTube subscribers was a little below 50 million people. Today, following two assaults from the SJW-infested media, his subscriber count stands at over 55 million. That simple fact perhaps speaks volumes for how the majority of free-thinking people view the SJW agenda.

    Yep, I’m no fan of Piediepie myself as I’m rather too old for the demographic he appeals too. However, the attacks on him by the SJW-infested media have resulted in me having a great deal of sympathy for him. I saw his recent video that hilariously ridiculed the moronic SJW nonsense of Jennifer Lawrence. That video made me realise for why the SJW-infested media have been gunning for him all this time. They want to silence him just like they try silencing anybody who doesn’t agree with their lunatic views.

    So for that reason, i.e. free speech and the First Amendment, I’m now a supporter of Piediepie regardless of whether his YouTube channel’s general content appeals to me. If the SJWs succeed in destroying YouTube’s number one ‘star’ then nobody will be safe.
