AMD has announced a new bundle for its latest graphics cards; AMD RX Vega, RX 580 and RX 570. These new bundles come with free copies for three upcoming games and these are Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Star Control: Origins and Strange Brigade.
Three. Free. Games. That’s right, when you buy a Radeon RX Vega, RX 580 or RX 570 you’ll get Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Strange Brigade, and Star Control: Origins absolutely FREE! https://t.co/KGOsklWMxx pic.twitter.com/pgN85PS2c8

It’s a pretty cool offer, especially if you are interested in any of these games (and of course are looking into upgrading to a newer graphics card). On the other hand, I don’t really know if it is wise to use an AMD graphics card for a game like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
For comparison purposes, both Assassin’s Creed Unity and Assassin’s Creed Origins perform better on NVIDIA’s hardware in case you’re using a mid-tier CPU. Both of these games require a powerful CPU and AMD’s lacklustre DX11 drivers come with an additional CPU performance hit. On the other hand, those with really high-end CPUs will not notice any performance degradations as they will be able to overcome the additional DX11 CPU overhead with the sheer raw power of their CPUs.
Not only that, but NVIDIA may soon release its new high-end graphics cards so yeah… we are not pretty sure if you should invest on an AMD GPU right now. But then again, the choice is yours!

Pretty tempting for anyone who is planning to buy these 3 games anyway. That’s about $140 in games and you can pick up a RX 580 for $260 on Newegg right now so effectively that 580 would cost you $120.
If all 3 games don’t appeal to you though then probably best to wait a little while and see what the next gen Nvidia cards bring and what they will be priced at.
Holy!!! I wanted to get AC:Odyssey and Strange Brigade. Tempting. But waiting on Nvidia to see what’s under the hood of their new GPU.
in a month or two you’ll be able to get a gtx 1160 which would give you performance of a gtx 1080 with price tag of approximately $300, you’ll also be able to get gtx 1080 ti performance with price tag of approximately $400. this is AMD’s pathetic policy towards what’s coming from team green.
Definitely an attempt from AMD to sway buyer from nvidia upcoming GPU. it has been ages since AMD offering brand new game with the purchase of their GPU. The most frightening GPU for AMD to counter most likely GTX1160/2060. If nvidia did not change their pricing strategy the new x60 part should have 1080 performance while costing around $250-300. That can be a serious blow to Vega.
They need to sway buyers with a COMPETITIVE GPU!!
This will be a pretty futile attempt I’m afraid. I’ve always preferred NVIDIA’s GPU’s, but I really do want AMD to succeed. I fear we’re going to see NVIDIA become very stagnant very soon. Not to mention price increases and longer delays between new tech.
Price might increase but at the very leasti don’t think nvidia will stagnant when it comes to progress. Nvidia is very well aware of what AMD capable of. From time and time again AMD have always coming out with something surprising. MCM type GPU? nvidia also take that seriously and did not even think what AMD dream off as a pipe dream. In fact nvidia already have somekind of “working protoype” in the form of actual product right now. And intel is about to seriously competing in GPU department. Larrabee failed because of the internal politics and obession that x86 can do graphic related task without being a “GPU”. But when they hire Raja it is a sign they finally admit that x86 can’t beat GPU in certain task that GPU really good at.
Nvidia might have the lead in GPU right now but they need to keep investing their other effort (AI and automotive) so they can keep being at the forefront. The reality is their other venture still heavily being sustained by their gaming revenue. Even if there is lack of competition from their main rival nvidia still need people to keep buying their GPU. They need those that buying GTX1080/1070 two years ago to buy their new product.
with current AMD GPUs price, you can get those 3 games and better competitor GPU..
