AMD FSR 3.0 feature

AMD revealed only two new games that will support FSR 3.0 Frame Generation

Yesterday, AMD revealed only two new games that will support its FSR 3.0 Frame Generation tech. These two games are Like a Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name and The Talos Principle 2.

AMD FSR 3.0 new games

This information comes straight from AMD. The following slide was shared during its CES 2024 conference, confirming the future title that will support FSR 3.0. Compared to the previous list we shared back in December 2023, the only new games that are in it are the two I mentioned above.

What’s interesting here is that there is no mention of Dragon’s Dogma 2 or Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition. If these two games end up only supporting DLSS 3, we’ll be kind of mad. Both Capcom and Nixxes have implemented AMD’s FSR in their previous games. So, it makes no sense to skip FSR 3.0 in these new titles. After all, it should be relatively easy to add support for it. Or at least that’s what Nixxes stated a few months ago.

As I’ve already stated, FSR 3.0 is still nowhere close to the quality of DLSS 3. However, this isn’t an excuse to completely drop support for it. As of right now, only owners of the RTX40 series can enjoy DLSS 3. So, FSR 3.0 will be a good alternative for everyone else. And I know, you can use this mod to enable FSR 3.0 in games that have support for DLSS 3. However, that’s not an ideal solution. PC gamers shouldn’t rely on such mods.

Perhaps I’m also overreacting here. For all we know, Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition may support FSR 3.0 at launch. We’ll just have to wait and see. Still, you’d expect AMD to include these games in its slide if that was the case.

The next “big” game that will support FSR 3.0 will be Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. This game will be released on January 25th, and it will also support NVIDIA’s DLSS 3. As such, it will be interesting to see how the latest version of FSR 3.0 will fare against DLSS 3.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. that’s the beatuy of fsr 3 it’s open source you don’t have to partner with amd or ask them for permission to use it
every game released from 2020 to 2024 could be coming with fsr 3 and amd doesn’t know about it and even if there wasn’t any one word mods

    1. This is naive opinion. I doubt there are any secret developers which are using FSR3 just because it’s open source. Does it happen in past for FSR without frame generation? It cost time and money to integrate so AMD has to push it exactly the same way, how NVIDIA is pushing DLSS. And there are also mods adding DLSS to many games without official support. Open source has nothing to do with this.

      1. ”I doubt there are any secret developers which are using FSR3 just because it’s open source”
you are thinking AAA devs only i’m thinking every type of dev under the sun

“Does it happen in past for FSR”
        yes

i didn’t say amd shouldn’t market or push it

and yes being an open source is a big deal and what type of licencse a project use effect big and small devs decision

also being open source means you don’t have to relay on nvidia or amd tools to use the thing using dlss unreal engine plugins to add dlss to unreal game might be easy but what about every other engine out there

        1. Nearly all of Nvidia’s tools are also open source ….. For instance the DLSS SDK are open source and so is Nvidia Streamline which allows developers to add DLSS, XeSS and FSR upscaling to games. In fact many modders use Streamline to add FSR2 to games that already support DLSS 2/3 (DLSS 3 includes both upscaling and frame generation. DLSS 2 which is now depreciated only supports upscaling)

          1. DLSS SDK is not open source being on github and being open source are not the same

what is open source are few libraries here and there also nvidia might open source the tools but not the technology itself they feed on monoply even in their own ecosystem

i wouldn’t love more than for dlss to be open source and someone know c c++ drivers and grapichs more than me to add old nvidia gpus and others support

  2. I tried FSR 3 in “Like a Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name”. Oh boy, it was a stutter fest. DLSS 2 worked perfect.

  3. LMAO..AMdead on it’s last breath 🤣

    Good riddance to garbage!

nVidia + Intel = perfection, and it just works!!

  4. To be frank it’s a bit surprising that AMD is putting much at all into FSR 3.0 or into marketing it. Last I read from JPR AMD only had a 10% market share of dGPUs while Nvidia had a 87% market share and pitiful Intel came up way, way behind with 3%. Not surprising since Intel spends very little on marketing their dGPU lineup.

    1. Sure, that’s why Nvidia released the Super variants in a hurry to be able to compete in sales with the AMD cards.

  5. People complaining about players having more options are silly. If you don’t like frame gen (whether from NVIDIA or AMD), then don’t use it. But not everyone is in the same position as you and there may be many players who can benefit from it.

  6. AMD needs to hurry up and move to using AI like Nvidia and Intel and then Frame Generation and Upscaling can be unified into a single DX12 API just like Ray Tracing and HBAO+ was before it.

I suspect they will do exactly that with the next generation late this year because they already have AI Cores in the 7000 series, they just aren’t using them yet. So either they plan on going to AI or they just wasted time and money putting unused circuitry in the 7000 series that costs the consumer money for nothing

  7. Somebody essentially help to make significantly articles I’d state. This is the first time I frequented your web page and up to now? I surprised with the research you made to make this actual post incredible. Fantastic job!

  8. I loved as much as you will receive carried out right here. The sketch is tasteful, your authored subject matter stylish. nonetheless, you command get got an edginess over that you wish be delivering the following. unwell unquestionably come further formerly again as exactly the same nearly very often inside case you shield this hike.

  9. Thanks, I have recently been looking for info about this subject for a while and yours is the greatest I have discovered so far. However, what in regards to the bottom line? Are you certain in regards to the supply?
