Walking sim… Since is UE4 betting 10$ that there will be performance issues, like many other games on that engine from small studios like Inner Chains ( still broken btw), Kholat and list go on 😉
I was seriously hoping this wouldn’t be a walking sim, since they kept calling it survival horror, but looking at the gameplay videos, I have to admit it looks like a straight up walking sim. Goddammit it’s so frustrating to constantly see so many outstanding art assets being wasted by bad game designers.
It looks like Amnesia, or a sneaking game, is that Walkin sim?
A walking sim would be like Dear Esther, a game with practically no gameplay, where you just control a camera in a 3D environment and look at things. Amnesia is somewhat dancing around the limits of a walking sim, since the sneaking part is so scripted, but it also has some decent puzzles. From the gameplay videos I’ve seen of Agony, the sneaking in this looks even more basic than Amnesia and I haven’t seen any puzzles.
have faith been following this game development,,, not a walking sim.
Thing is people mislabel games as walking simulators A LOT (and they don’t care cause they just don’t like those games in first place and that is what it all boils down to). When there are enemies and/or problem solving. It’s not walking simulator. Since there are actually games where only thing that you do is indeed just walk with zero obstacles in your way. Hence the name.
Edith Finch, Gone Home, Dear Esther, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, Firewatch…those are examples of walking simulators. Agony is simply nothing like those games.
“When there are enemies and/or problem solving. It’s not walking simulator.”
True, but some games are really light on those, like Observer for example
Aye, but I still enjoyed Observer unlike any walking simulator I tried 😀 I admit thou that huge part of it is it’s setting. Same thing with Agony.
I guess that is what is my comment all about really and it does not apply to everyone. I just truly despise those true walking simulators (ofc nothing wrong if others enjoy them!), but can enjoy games that are just light on gameplay elements.
People calling Soma walking simulator irks me so much you don’t even know. I mean I guess people can call it whatever they want but how the hell is Soma and Gone Home in same category?
And Kholat.
“”When there are enemies and/or problem solving. It’s not walking simulator.”
Yes they should be labeled as run and hide simulators.
Yeah a real game, not a F*CK walking simulator; I hate that crap!
“puts on running shoes and black clothes”
I’m ready.
Cool, please be good.
I backed them on KS, I really hope in the end when I get to play it the game will own. Fingers crossed.
they should release in VR.
Agree…it would be a true mindF***!
will it have action or not?
