Modder ‘Ashok’ has released a must-have 4K AI-upscaled Texture Pack for Resident Evil 7. This mod basically retextures 1,497 vanilla 1K and 2K textures in total. Moreover, and since the game does have some 4K textures, it does not make any changes to them.
Going into more details, wood, metal, and stone textures were AI upscaled and select paintings were replaced with high-resolution imagery. On the other hand, textures with very fine detail i.e. cloth, photographs, text, etc. remain untouched to prevent the game from having a “muddy” look.
You can download this 4K Texture Pack from here. This pack supports both the Ray Tracing and the non-RT versions of the game. It’s also compatible with both DX11 and DX12.
Lastly, here are some comparison screenshots between the vanilla and the enhanced textures.
Have fun!

when will people realise that: ai-upscale = sharpness filter
Haha, no, it’s not. AI Upscale uses deep learning trained algorithms and actually adds detail that didn’t exist before based on trained models it learned analyzing other texture upscales. A sharpness filter only works with the source material to mainly strengthen edges. It’s MUCH more limited than what AI upscaling algorithms can do (which is almost magical sometimes)
Of course only your dumbass could say something as dumb as this. You’re a walking L.
Looks nice, except for the size of the mod.
There’s a LITE version of the mod if you don’t want to go full 4k
That’s nice.
