Modder Shay released an Early Access version of his new mod for STALKER 2 that aims to bring to it realistic death animations. This mod is being made with the new SDK tools that GSC GameWorld released last month. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
By default, STALKER 2 has 26 different death animations based on 4 body parts. But many of them look very similar, and some are almost the same. So, this mod aims to change all the animations to make them look more real.
To showcase the new animations, the modder shared the following GIFs. These should give you an idea of what you can expect from it. From what I can see, the mod can make your fights with the enemies feel better than before. So, if you are still playing it, you should definitely try it.
You can go ahead and download the mod from this link. The modder plans to release new versions of his mod whenever a new game update comes out. These new versions will cover new body parts. On full release, the mod will have 26 new realistic animations. These 26 animations will be for 4-5 body parts and from about 4 to 8 directions based on body part.
Do note that Patch 1.5 can cause some weird bugs and issues. Thus, you may see flying ragdolls, stuck NPCs after death in geometry, frozen bodies. As Shay said, these bugs are due to the Title Update. In other words, it can also happen in the vanilla version. They are not related in any way to the mod.
Speaking of STALKER 2, you may also want to try these other mods for it. So, this mod adds a Parkour-like climbing system to the game. Then we have this mod that allows you to fast-travel anywhere on the map.
In December 2024, we shared a mod that let you loot all mutants in STALKER 2. This was a feature from the older STALKER games that was missing at launch. Luckily, GSC GameWorld added it later through an update. So now, you don’t need the mod anymore. Still, it shows how modders were able to bring back features that fans missed.
You can also download a mod that will remove the inventory carry/weight limit. I’m not a fan of this last mod, but hey, some of you may like it. Finally, have a mod that can further improve the game’s graphics, and enable GTAO.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
