  1. i never got the point of those games, too repetitive and boring for me. The only one i was able to get into was sacred because it was a large open world rpg with a diablo style combat and gameplay, dungeons in that game were the exception not the rule. Still got bored of it after a while. I also played dungeon siege, twice, never finished it gave up in the swamps. Then there titan quest, i played the remaster, just awful, combat sucks skill suck and you got high level monsters everywhere that you got to avoid while the low level enemies dont respawn unless you quit the game first, killed the progression. Also there is this game called retricted area, mediocre diablo with cyberpunk setting, but far more repetitiveness and more enemies, gave up because at some point you went to some endgame temple that was insanely hard and didnt feel like grinding for 5 hours. Seriously why people like those games what do i miss?

I guess you can also include hellgate london and borderlands in the list, never finished hellgate london, got too repetitive with too many enemies, i stopped playing borderlands at that dlc with the witch doctors their defense and dps was beyond ridiculous and the swamp setting sucked.

    1. Personally, I just love the easy and fast progress with better gear, unlocking new kills all the time, finding unique weapons, etc.
It’s like any RPG but faster. At least that’s how it feels to me.
I never played Diablo 2 very long cos it wasn’t my style so I can’t judge.
I did love Torchlight 2 though, very well balanced and addictive.

If you don’t want repetitiveness, maybe you should try something deeper…
How about Divine Divinity? Ever tried it?
Maybe I’m wrong, but I think it’s the very first game of the “Divinity” series, and it was pretty good.
If you enjoyed Sacred, I think you might like it.

I guess I can agree with your critics of Borderlands cos those games always felt too grindy to me. As I said, for me, the best in that category have fast progress, otherwise it’s boring and repetitive.
Anything grindy is a big nope for me.
