inb4 “hurr durr mobile graphix”
some people wont learn that visuals dont equal gameplay. Sad but thats the truth im afraid
Indeed, but I know from where they come, after all “the first bite is with the eyes”.
But then it’s taken to extreme levels.
There’s no place for reasoning.
usually no reasoning is impossible, look to youtube comment sections for proof of that, good thing about this site is that there are level headed people pretty much throughout the threads thankfully
This is a problem with the whole internet/gaming culture in general (well any culture, but since gaming is still such a new culture is being going through the “growing pains” phase).
You can find level headed people everywhere, but the signal to noise ratio drags everything down. It’s frustrating.
People who never played Shovel Knight?
Shovel Knight has good visuals (stylistically).
i wouldnt say stylized, its just snes visuals at a higher resolution(s).
I completely agree but I imagine the same people that dismissed that game on graphics for being pixel art would do the same to this game.
Personally, I liked Spelunky’s mechanics, but “mobile” graphics put me off.
So yeah, visuals can affect gameplay.
Can affect gameplay or affect your perception?
Perception, in fact.
But my point is, visuals are important.
For example, the style of Monster Boy is well thought out. It’s meant to be appealing, but not in the standard way. People thinking that they are oh so merciful because they chose to not write off that old-timey looking game are ludicrous.
It was given for free so there was no regret anyway.
Yeah, GOG was giving it away.
And as for the second thing: I didn’t really care about co-op, so I didn’t know about that problem.
Meh, Mobile graphics /s
Cheeky!
xD
I like it! Looks fun! Reminds me of SNES-era games.
