DirectX 12 RPCS3 PS3 Emulator – New Video Shows Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice Running In Full Speed

The DX12 version of the most promising Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3, seems to be progressing nicely. YouTube’s ‘John GodGames’ has shared a new video, showing Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice running in full speed. And while this is not a demanding title, it does show the progress that has been made to the actual emulator. It looks cool (if we exclude the error that happens at the end) so make sure to watch it!

  1. Wow 0_0 . It can already render 2D games at full speed. Must be because of JIT that’s discovered to be great for emulators

    1. I don’t know much but it’s a compiler that’s being used by emulator devs and is apparently good for emulators according to a dev from PPSSPP. I think he said it was first used by Dolphin emu devs and brought a substantial improvement so other emu devs, including himself, adapted it.

Edit : I used to closely watch the development of PPSSPP and was amazed how fast he was making progress and asked him and he said it’s because of JIT

  2. Looks amazing, although I wonder if any of already existing emulators (PCSX2 for example) will ever make use of the DX12 tech. I really like the idea of significaltly lowering system requirements needed to run emulation smoothly through the use of DX12, so yeah. Hope the progress will never stall!

    1. They are starting to run Silent hill 3 I mean it has issues but still… check out his videos. I am sure Red Dead is closer then ever now. XD
