Just Cause 3 – New Beautiful Screenshots Released

Avalanche Studios has released a new set of screenshots for Just Cause 3, showing the beautiful visuals of its upcoming current-gen only open-world title. Just Cause 3 looks amazing and is full of explosions (like basically its predecessor). The game is currently planned for a 2015 release. Enjoy!

  1. Looks pretty much same as the 4.5 year old Just Cause 2 which is not exactly a bad thing as Just Cause 2 still looks very good according to today’s open world game standards.

      1. JC2 uses lots of shaders (math-based textures) as opposed to rasterized, image-based textures. Modern graphics cards’ “stream processors” are highly optimized for shader computation.

Now the industry is moving back to high resolution image-based textures (or rather, a combination of rasterized textures and shader layers), so new computers need faster system RAM and larger amounts of VRAM (plus a fast processor to move the information from RAM to VRAM) in order to run these next-gen games.

Shaders, on the other hand, are all calculated directly on the graphics card so you don’t need a crazy-good CPU or system RAM.

        1. Oh my God, you have spoken the words and terms I am looking for!!!!

Nowadays, I realize that if I play at 1080p but with low textures, it is useless. Cause basically every object still looks like some blurry s**t. This wasn’t the case before. Your explanation of shaders and image based shaders is very apt. Thanks man!

          1. its funny when you move the mouse left or right the tress move its like watching you whatever you do 🙂

  2. It looks good. Very much like JC3 with the vibrant island resort look. It certainly does seem a step above JC3 in terms of technical detail, but people will probably say it looks the same. That’s why I think these days it’s more important that they push the mechanics more than graphics that don’t really get the praise they deserve and possibly only lead to performance complaints.

    1. It looks VERY improved to me. But then I play through the game every year so I immediately noticed the various improvements.

I mean c’mon, the game is suppose to be stylized and fun, not photo-real. Insanely realistic graphics wouldn’t compliment the zany/ campy action.

  3. Why the low resolution though, gamersyde has these in 1080p?

Any way, they are beautiful indeed. The explosions are particularly stunning. I just hope you can deactivate motion blur.

  4. I hope they improve the driving. Just Cause 2 was just awful.
That’s an important part of my open world game experience, driving around at full speed with some of my music in the background.

  5. Just cause 2 is one of the best sandbox game I’ve ever played. Very excited about this game, i will definitely get this game as long as as the PC version is solid. Gonna wait for that reviews to comes out first, i will never pre-order any games ever again.

  6. I squealed with joy when this game was announced. I must’ve spent hundreds of hours in the last one.

So any idea when in 2015 this will be released? Q4?

    1. yeah, we should be updating the ‘Comment of the Week’ more often. By now it has almost become a ‘Comment of the Month’. Apologies for that
