  1. The demo is 8.9GB.

    In other news John.

Track your high scores with each weapon and test your ability to balance precise shooting, controlled breathing, and composure under pressure.”

          1. Just like yours. FACT, the reviews of Sniper Elite 3 are better than Evil Within. FACT, Evil Within is a terrible PC port.

Don’t talk about FACTS when you obviously have no sense of reality.

          2. I havent played sniper elite and yes evil within is a bad port but its not horrible.

I am enjoying evil within alot BUT its not a easy game to get into, the basic idea is that you are low on ammo and you have to use what you got, and it has bad camera angles and controls per tradition of the survival horror genre. Its aimed at a niche audience, re4 was a bad port but it was a great game and still is.

      1. is it? I havent played it but they say it has nonlinear leves and thats what i wanted from games like this and far ry and ghost warrior since the first sniper elite came out.

    1. I didn’t notice this during the Performance Analysis before, but I find it weird how the game’s hooking DX11. I thought id tech 5 was OpenGL only. Or are there options to select a DX11 renderer in this case? Also, what OSD is that? Doesn’t look like Afterburner.

      1. It is Afterburner and yeah, Id Tech 5 is usually OpenGL. The demo is pretty good though, unfortunately it drops to 30fps in the grassy areas outside but it looks good, nice and spooky.

    2. The framerate freaking dies in the village but after than that it really improves.

Anyway the drivers i am using are from september i dont know if nvidia has released new drivers for it or if amd has.

Most of the perfomance issues come from disabling the black lines, yet another game that runs better than the console versions on pc. But i keep being told by clueless console fanboys that pcs need 3x the power of a cosnole just look at the requiments the plebs say.

I think the main reason for the bad perfomance are the changes they did to the engine, the textures are far more detailed than wolfenstein, the shaders are better, the texture streaming is replaced with umbra and there is full dynamic lighting all objects cast shadows, plus there are physics and you can push crap out of the way.

They have really bloated the engine with extra stuff, if instead of that they licenseced unreal engine everything would have been better, then again bethesda has idtech 5 and gamebryo so they gave them what they had.

I really am really enjoying the game, its much harder in the begging that it is later on after you ugprade. The japanesse devs adressed the complains with 60 fps patch and demo. So its not all that bad, i didnt pay full price for it.

The game will not make any sense until chapter 8, so keep playing, as far as gameplay goes its very similar to a hardcore version of re4 with less action and more survival horror and sillent hill, i like that. I havent bothered with alien isolation yet.

      1. It only uses 2 cores, that’s why Intel CPUs destroy AMD CPUs in this game. Apparently the game performs best on Haswell CPUs, maybe some kind of optimisation for the CPU because the i3 Haswell is in the 60s.

The demo is pretty good and generous size.

  2. the “uh, we won’t give minimun requirement cause this game is so AWESOME!” game can be handled by me modest gtx 660 above 30 fps.
