  1. The visuals and sounds are great…but the game looks like its gonna have many scripted moments.
Hope it lives up to the expectations…

    1. I saw the same thing, alien appears in exactly the same area and attacks you in the same way. Bit disappointed now 🙁

    1. Mantle has nothing to do with Visuals… it’s a low lvl api dealing with cpu overhead just like DX12 and OpenGL 5.0. {opengl 5.0 is not out yet but I was giving a example] Meaning the only way Visuals will go beyond what a console can do is dealing with a SDK via Radeon SDK/tressfx or Nvidia Gameworks/PhysX.

Developers need to go beyond just higher res and fancy AA to make us feel like we buy gpu’s that cost more then consoles do themselves

Side note… YouTube compression is garbage and does not do any game any justice

      1. Yeah and Mantle is just AMD trying desperate to cling on to be alive!
Well and then MS says DX12 and that Mantle crap is dead on from day one heh!

nVidias optimization the old DX11 even did put that joke called Mantle to shame 😉

        1. But keep in mind even if DX12 takes over it will be up to both Nvidia and AMD to have developers use it’s SDK’s to make PC versions use effects such as Hairworks, tressfx, HBAO+ ect ect.

What good are better fps on just only older hardware if games just look like console ports with just a higher res and fps. We gotta have a real reason to buy PC versions. And not just because of Mod’s and better AA with just less jaggies

      2. Actually, Mantle has everything to do with visuals because it’s the graphics API and it allows the user to enable higher settings because they have a higher frame-rate thanks to Mantle.

        1. John is right. Mantle doesn’t have direct influence to visuals. But yes it makes available higher settings on systems with CPU bottlenecks. This is different.

          1. Ok. I can’t prove what I said because I really don’t know what Mantle contains. So I have few questions. It’s completely independent API? Doesn’t it work as some kind of hack over DX? Does it have better or special features which makes visuals better over DX? Will DX Alien version have worse visuals?

          2. Mantle is it’s own graphics API but DirectX is more than just a graphics API, devs still have to use DirectX for sound, input ect. Mantle doesn’t have to go through WIndows overheads or layers of a driver, so it’s closer to the metal so to say when communicating with the hardware. More resources can be freed up to make more effects on screen.

          3. Well, all graphics APIs have their own ways of doing effects but because Mantle can do those effects more efficiency, so can render more effects on screen at a higher frame-rate.

          4. The point is, they’re the SAME effects. Also, it’s not THAT much faster that you’re going to see so much more effects on screen compared to DX. Maybe one or two extra things, if that. We’re talking <10 FPS gain on most games with Mantle.

        2. My point is it adds nothing new to the Table as Nvidia SDK and Radeon SDK does.

I in general am talking about games going beyond just being console ports with just having higher fps and better AA.

If anything DX11.2 and DX11.3 are more advanced then Mantle with Visual effects in general. You on the other hand are talking about effects that PC gamer’s already have but only helps out weaker hardware to preform better.

I on the other hand am thinking about people who buy cpu’s and gpu’s that cost more then a console alone.

  2. I really waitied for dis geim, now let’s hope they made Ai good enough for dis geim, cause its most important thing in this genre.Graphics looks foken great, and lightning is sweeet.I dunt wanna another crysis 3 graphics showoff, cross yarr fingers and hope these fucking moda fuckers will deliver a enjoyable piece of shitware.

  3. Looks pretty choppy tbh. Don’t know their specs and/or if it’s YT that’s causing the jerkiness, but most other games look OK on YT. Hope it’s not just shodddy coding.
