Nightdive Studios is currently giving away free copies of System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster on the Epic Games Store. Until October 8th, PC gamers can visit the game’s EGS page and acquire a free copy.
System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster brings the classic horror RPG to modern systems with improved visuals and new features. The remaster upgrades the characters, weapons, animations, and cutscenes. On PC, it supports up to 144 FPS and ultra-wide screens. It also adds better controller support and several quality-of-life changes.
The game includes cross-play co-op for up to four players. You can team up with friends and explore the Von Braun together. You can also pick one of three paths: O.S.A., Marines, or Navy. Each path offers different ways to play.
The remaster also adds full mod support on PC. Players can use community-made mods and missions to expand the game. There are also 50 new Achievements to unlock.
Other updates include adjustable FOV, post-processing options, and support for modern gamepads. The remaster also improves the game’s graphics while keeping its classic horror feel.
On top of these changes, the game has received many small fixes and updates. These include better multiplayer support, improved controls, new accessibility options, and smoother game performance. The result is a modern version of System Shock 2 that keeps the core game intact while making it easier to play today.
