Final Fantasy 7 Revelation feature-2

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Will Use Denuvo on PC

Square Enix has confirmed, via the game’s Steam store page, that Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will use the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. This is quite interesting, as the previous parts of the FF7 Remake Trilogy did not use it.

My guess is that Square Enix wanted to be as PC-friendly as possible with Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth. After all, their PC versions came out a year after the console versions. However, FF7 Revelation will launch on PC and consoles at the same time. So, Square Enix may have decided to use Denuvo to protect its day-one sales.

The good news is that Square Enix has removed Denuvo from a lot of its titles. For instance, the publisher has removed it from DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake. In December 2025, it also removed it from Just Cause 3. Not only that, but it has removed it from The Diofield ChronicleVALKYRIE ELYSIUMTRIANGLE STRATEGYLIVE A LIVE, and Forspoken. Moreover, both Octopath Traveler and its sequel no longer use it. And that’s not all. In May 2024, SE removed it from Star Ocean The Second Story R. Finally, in March 2025, the publisher removed it from Final Fantasy 16.

As such, we can expect SE to remove Denuvo from FF7 Revelation six months or a year after its PC release. This falls in line with what the publisher has been doing lately. So, while it’s a bummer, it’s not really the end of the world.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is the final part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project. In this game, players can soar through the skies in their airship, the Highwind. They can then explore a huge, connected world.

Players can choose where to land and skydive to points of interest. The world features many biomes, cities, and remote areas.

You will also fight alongside a cast of unique companions. This includes new playable party members Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine. Each character has their own combat role and abilities. This gives you more ways to build your team and fight enemies.

The game also features the series’ mix of real-time action and command-based combat. You can switch between party members at any time. You can also use Tactical Mode to issue commands and unleash powerful skills and team attacks against huge threats.

You can also prepare your team with many customization options. You can change your characters’ weapons, armor, skills, Materia, and FITS. FITS is a new system that adds class-based abilities and special outfits. This lets you fine-tune your builds to match your playstyle. You can also change your setup to deal with different types of enemies.

Square Enix will release Final Fantasy 7 Revelation on April 8, 2027. For what it’s worth, the publisher has not yet revealed its official PC requirements. Once it does, I’ll be sure to share them with you.

Stay tuned for more!
