Microsoft has confirmed via the official XBOX Twitter/X account that Halo: Campaign Evolved and Gears of War: E-Day will come out in 2026. Moreover, the team stated that the new Fable game has been delayed until 2027.
What’s funny here is that we’ve gotten more in-game footage for Fable than for Halo: Campaign Evolved or Gears of War: E-Day. So, I don’t know why Fable is the game that was delayed until 2027.
Seriously, the last trailer we got for Gears of War: E-Day was in 2024. Since then, we haven’t heard anything about it. On the other hand, the last trailer for Fable came out in January 2026. So, you’d assume that Fable was closer to completion than the new Gears of War game.
But anyway. If both Halo: Campaign Evolved and Gears of War: E-Day are coming out this year, we can safely assume that we’ll get gameplay trailers for them during the XBOX Showcase. Microsoft will hold this event on Monday, June 8, 2026.
Gears of War: E-Day takes place fourteen years before Gears of War. War heroes Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago return home to face a new nightmare: the Locust Horde. These subterranean monsters, grotesque and relentless, erupt from below, laying siege on humanity itself.
On the other hand, Halo: Campaign Evolved is a faithful modernized remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s campaign in Unreal Engine 5. The game will have the entire campaign of the first Halo game, as well as three brand-new prequel missions featuring the Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson.
