THQ Nordic has announced that Gothic 1 Remake will be released on June 5th. To celebrate this announcement, the publisher has also shared a new trailer that you can find below.
In Gothic 1 Remake, you will explore a handcrafted open world that reacts to your choices. Whether you’re a long-time Gothic fan or this is your first time entering the Colony, the game promises a true RPG experience with complete freedom to explore.
The remake aims to stay faithful to the original game. It rebuilds everything from the ground up while keeping the classic feeling of open exploration and satisfying character progression. The dark, gritty world of the Colony will be richly detailed and immersive, with NPCs and wildlife following realistic daily routines that continue even when the player isn’t around.
Gothic 1 Remake will have a branching Story. Players can choose which of the three factions to align with, influencing how their abilities and playstyle develop and how this true adventure unfolds.
According to the Steam page, the remake will have a modernized combat system that updates the core mechanics of the original. This system aims to offer a more fluid and dynamic experience while staying true to its deliberate and tactical roots. However, the PC demo I tried did not feel that great.
