Josh Koenig Games has released a demo for his upcoming Game Boy Color Zelda-like game for PC, Echo Isle. This demo will let you experience the early parts of the game before purchasing it.
Echo Isle is made by a single indie dev. In this game, you play as Aster, a star warrior sent to fight back the darkness. With your trusty sword in hand, you go on a short but exciting adventure across a small, cozy island. Along the way, you’ll explore old ruins, battle tough monsters, unlock new powers, and gather the four legendary Echo Stones.
Echo Isle will feature four different ruins, and each one ends with a big guardian boss fight. As you play, you’ll earn new abilities that help you uncover more of the island and reach new areas.
The game will have fast, easy-to-learn combat that still feels rewarding once you master it. You can also expect bright, nostalgic pixel art that looks like classic 90s adventure games. And, to the surprise of no one, it will run smoothly on the Steam Deck.
You can go ahead and download the demo from this link.
Since this is a 2D game, it does not require a high-end or mid-tier PC system. According to the Steam page, it will run smoothly on a dual-core CPU with a 2Ghz frequency, 4GB of RAM, and any modern integrated GPU.
Have fun!
