Konami has just released Silent Hill f for everyone who purchased the Deluxe Edition. This means we can finally test the game and see how it performs on PC. Silent Hill f uses Unreal Engine 5 and takes advantage of Nanite, Lumen, and Virtual Shadow Maps. So, the big question is: can it run at 60FPS in Native 4K with Max Settings on the most powerful GPU?
For these early benchmarks, I used an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 32GB of DDR5 at 6000Mhz, and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090. I also used Windows 10 64-bit, and the GeForce 581.29 driver.
Let’s start with some of the bad and strange stuff. Although the game supports DLSS 4, it does not support any Frame Gen. There’s also no in-game support for DLAA or Native FSR. On top of that, you can’t adjust the resolution in Fullscreen Mode (the option is greyed out). I’m not sure why the game suffers from these issues.
To get a native image, you have two options. You can either use TSR with 100% Screen Percentage, or you can force DLAA via the NVIDIA App. If you select DLSS or FSR, their settings will override the Screen Percentage option. So, make sure to keep that in mind.
At Native 4K with Max Settings, the game can run with 60FPS on the NVIDIA RTX 5090. That’s with Lumen, Nanite, and Virtual Shadow Maps. This is one of the few UE5 games that performs this well with Software Lumen. For those wondering, Silent Hill f uses UE5.4.2.0. So, no. It does not benefit from the improvements that Epic made in UE5.5 or UE5.6.
It’s also worth noting that DLAA appears to run better than Native TSR. 4K with DLAA was pushing a minimum of 65FPS and an average of 70FPS. Image quality appears to be similar. Below you can find two comparison screenshots. They look pretty similar to me. So, if you own an RTX GPU, I highly recommend DLAA over Native TSR.
At 1440p/Max Settings, the game was running with a minimum of 98FPS and an average of 104FPS. That was a similar performance I was getting at 4K with DLSS Quality Mode. Makes sense since 4K DLSS Q renders the image at 1440p. Finally, at Native 1080p/Max Settings, we were getting over 120FPS at all times.
Before closing, I should note that Motion Blur introduces visual artifacts around the main character. This is something I’ve seen in other games, too. These artifacts have nothing to do with DLSS or FSR (as they also appear with TSR). So, make sure to disable Motion Blur.
So, first performance impressions are certainly positive for Silent Hill f. We’ll have more to say when we publish our PC Performance Analysis, in which we’ll test numerous GPUs from both AMD and NVIDIA.
Stay tuned for more!

Show this to borderlands 4 developer
60fps on a $2,000 RTX5090 is not any better than Borderlands 4
if anything it's even worse, since this game has a minuscule draw distance and should be running a lot better than Borderlands 4, but it doesn't
Problem ist this game, like SH2, has a extreme draw distance. If you disable the fog there's so much unnecessary geometry etc… that's rendered for nothing because you can't see it through the fog
the game f*** up with your monitor , on my case it wouldn't accept 144hz , so it was stuck to 60hz , but after a while playing , my screen went black for some minutes and then came back , guess what? 144hz was accepted .
Its a really terrible state of affairs that we are impressed by this. 4k and 60 avg FPS is still bad for a 5090.
Neobards, Asian developer ofc it's gonna run better than any western game
I remember playing Slitterhead made by japanese Bokeh studios and getting really disoriented with some engine stutters. Great game, but not so great optimization and graphics.
Every UE5 game will have stutter. I never said Silent Hill f is an exception. It just runs better than other UE5 games, but stutters are still there. They're less but present.
Slitterhead is particularly bad in this regard, but it’s more of an annoyance.
Does the f stand for fu*ked meaning silenthill fu*ked because it uses UE5?
🤣
It seems to be running friKKing awesome with no stutter POS eaiter. So the proper name would have been – Silent Hill f*kN Well programed Even it's POS Unreal Engine. Or for Short – Silent Hill Unfu*eD 🤣
Does the f stand for fu*ked meaning silenthill fu*ked because it uses UE5?
Sitenizin tasarımı da içerikleriniz de harika, özellikle içerikleri adım adım görsellerle desteklemeniz çok başarılı emeğinize sağlık.
The game comes with DLSS 3.7 DLLs. I forced DLSS4 and the ghosting around the character was reduced. I like the look of AA in this game, the image is perfectly clean and stable, yet sharp at the same time (is like viewing a photograph on my 4K monitor). Performance is reasonable for UE5 game, on the RTX4080S I can get around 60fps with DLAA and few settings tweaks, however I decided to use higher settings with with DLSS set to Ultra Quality (77% res scale). With these settings, the game runs at a locked 60 fps, and there is no perceivable difference compared to DLAA.
A very high shadow setting reduces the fps significantly.
Smooth Motion can be used as long as Framegen is not added.
I don't like using the smooth motion feature because there's judder on my PC (unlike DLSS FG) and I can't accept that. I also dont need more fps in this game, since it's a slow paced game (a walking simulator)
70-80fps with DLSS ultra quality.

hocam gayet açıklayıcı bir yazı olmuş elinize emeğinize sağlık.
backgrounds look worse than ps1 era graphics.
man graphics havent evolved sh*t
Some of these textures make my eyes cry. The ground, rocks, and foliage look so poor. How is a linear game looking like this running this slow?
Max settings are overrated
€80 for a game that only lasts 6 hours.
And it's not even a good game at that.
Konami garbage.
Crazy how we are supposed to be happy with 60 fps on a 5090 of all things.. This should be running atleast 120+ fps, otherwise what's the point of PC gaming again? Back in the day the top end PCs would be overkill for almost every new release..
You are an idiot who doesn’t know what Lumen is.
And you are an idiot that thinks that that is an excuse for bad performance. Modern day developers are just a joke, look at a game like split fiction, runs with insane good performance, then there's trash like this.
Epic must be doubling their paycheck for you to be openly insulting the people visiting your crap website and reading your garbage.
And you are still here, acting like an idiot, commenting on every story, and we are making money out of you. So, keep doing what you do. It actually benefits us (yes, even if you use an Ad Blocker).
Might as well treat you like a b*tch wh*re if you are gaining money from my comments.
The word you seek starts with pi and ends with mp. That’s the one who gains money from someone like you 😉
Too bad you can’t b*tchslap me for all the disrespect you get for being such a failure. You are more of a beggar than a pimp, so do me a favor and continue writing your worthless slop.
and you are another for defending a "technique " that is nothing but global illumination with fancy name , we have seen this kind of stuff before its named different to sound like something heavy .
Lumen is a form of Ray Tracing. Period. End of story. You are an idiot if you expect to run Ray Tracing at Native 4K with 60FPS, even on an RTX 5090. So, start educating yourself because you sound like one of those little angry kids who have no idea what they are talking about.
Not only that, but the game ALLOWS you to disable Lumen for both GI and Reflections. So, why not disable it? You complain about Lumen when the game actually allows you to disable it.
Let’s go one step further. 4K/60FPS with Ray Tracing was impossible for numerous games when the RTX 5090 came out. You needed DLSS Quality or Performance. So, if you want to use Lumen (which is Ray Tracing), why are you not using DLSS? If you bought an RTX 5080 or RTX 5090 with the assumption that you could run all ray-traced PC games at Native 4K with 60FPS, you should blame those who lied to you. Stop following those who said those things and those who have misled you, and those who sold you a lie. From day-1, I’ve been saying that it’s impossible to run Ray Tracing at Native 4K on the RTX 5090. You can run rasterized games at Native 4K, though. And that’s precisely what’s happening with Silent Hill f.
excuse me? did someone used names?? no right that right there tell you are nothing but a manipulator , you want whatever you say to be superior to others , and you use the same f****excuse as every single manipulator “educate yourself”
at this point i don’t want to discuss anything with you wtf , can’t you discuss in other form ??? this is why everyone talks sh*t about you .
Dude, it’s not my fault you don’t know what Lumen (or Nanite or Virtual Shadow Maps) does, and then say silly things like, “Oh, it’s another gimmick like the old GI solutions.” This has nothing to do with manipulation. It’s pure ignorance, and you’re commenting on things you don’t have the slightest idea about.
excuses .excuses .excuses
i have downloaded this demo some time ago
https://marvizer.itch.io/gtb-zorah
And it uses Lumen , and you know what? my rtx 4080 goes on it like if was nothing , games are heavy due to target hardware
It’s a tech demo. You should NEVER take tech demos as representative of actual games. Case in point: the UE5 demos for PS5. None of the UE5 games look or run as well as those demos, even on the PS5 Pro.
its target hardware , no matter what great hardware you have companies will make games feel slow and sluggish , for you to upgrade and make game look great .
on my eyes its pathetic
Its weird, this game works and looks best for me at max setting while using DLSS, any other combination of lowering the settings or using different upscalers results in worse performance and image quality.
80fr , souls like combat , extremely irritating , extremely injected with politics and ideals ( bad man !!!! all man bad man!!! all man losers, liars , woman suffering, suffering , suffering victims ) played to 80% and i have to say , dunno if i will finish the game , thank goodness piracy exists i would regret having spend money on this liar , sponge enemy, sponge world pile of expensive garbage .
That’s bc its lumen implementation is horrible, really low ray count, software only and noisy af, they actually left a leftover “cinematic” (which is quality number 4 for each setting if you check UserSettings.ini, max goes to 3, if you change it to 4 you can access it) preset on the scalability.ini (dumped with a script) and on lumen GI it goes from 300 rays to budget to 1000 lol. Same with shadows 2048 pixels and justa few bounces but the cinematic goes to 8192, I had to make my own engine.ini with recommendations from modders on gamersnexus to enable HW RT and up the ray count and resolution a bit to not make reflections and shadows look horrible while not going too far and make it run horribly, this is basically what a medium setting would be in a western game, mainly bc PC players in Asia and especially Japan don’t really buy $1-2k GPUs as much as western countries (especially US) do
