Wildflame Studio has announced a new first-person dinosaur co-op shooter, called Eggspedition. The game will come out sometime later this year, and below you can find its debut in-engine trailer.
From what I’ve seen, Eggspedition will be a multiplayer-focused game. Yes, you can play it solo. However, this isn’t a story-driven title. Instead, you’ll have to complete missions. At one time, you’ll have to locate an egg, while at other times you may have to secure a zone.
Eggspedition is most likely using Unreal Engine 5. Or at least that’s the vibes I got from the trailer. And, to its credit, it does look great. However, I’d prefer a single-player game, and not another co-op shooter.
And look, I get it. Wildflame Studio is a small team, so we can’t expect something huge like a new Jurassic Park or Dino Crisis game. But here’s the thing. We already have plenty of multiplayer dinosaur games. What we’re still missing is a really good single-player dinosaur game.
It’s also obvious that the devs chose this name after the huge success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Eggspedition is a cool, catchy name. On top of that, it’s ideal for SEO. So, at least they chose a catchy name for their game.
Finally, I suggest tempering your expectations. This won’t blow you away. And, if you’re bored with all the co-op shooters, you can safely skip it.
Enjoy the trailer!
