Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot – PC Original vs Next Gen Update Remaster Graphics Comparison

As promised, Bandai Namco released the free Next Gen Update for the PC version of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. This update will improve the game’s graphics. And, YouTube’s ElAnalistaDeBits shared a video comparing the old version with the new remastered one. So, let’s check it out.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot came out on PC in 2020, and it ran great from the get-go. You didn’t need a powerful computer to run it smoothly. Even mid-range PCs could handle the game just fine. The devs, CyberConnect2, also made sure the game was easy to play with a keyboard and mouse. The game showed the right buttons on screen, and there were no weird mouse issues like delay or strange movement. I also don’t remember any big problems, like stuttering or crashes. All in all, it was a strong and smooth PC release.

As you can see in the video, the Next Gen Update makes the game’s lighting much better. In the older version, there were lots of dark, black areas, especially on trees, that didn’t look right. Now, thanks to the improved lighting system, the game looks more natural. Everything feels brighter and smoother, making the game nicer to look at.

The Next Gen Update also makes big improvements to the game’s water and reflections. Water now looks more realistic, and you’ll see clearer reflections on surfaces. On top of that, the update adds more plants and trees, so the world feels fuller and more alive.

Shadows have also been improved, making everything look more natural. And the Level of Detail has been upgraded, too. This means objects in the distance now look sharper and more detailed instead of blurry or low quality. Overall, the world looks richer and more detailed.

In short, this Next Gen update is pretty good, especially since it’s free. It won’t completely change how the game looks, but it does make everything look a little nicer. The colors are sharper, the lighting is better, and the environments look more polished. It’s not a huge upgrade, but fans will definitely notice the improvements. So, kudos to the devs for bringing those visual improvements to the PC.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. THIS is how Dragon Ball is supposed to look.
And not that pathetic 3D bullshit.
Thanks God for FighterZ, at least it looks a bit more like the manga.
Geez, if you make it 3D, at least use cel shading properly!
When you see how good the original manga looks and then see the game, you just can't play it.
