Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – Update 4 Hotfix 2 Released, Full Patch Notes

A couple of days ago, MachineGames released Title Update 4 Hotfix 2 for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and shared its full patch notes. So, let’s see what this new patch brought to the table.

Patch 4 Hotfix 2 brings fresh game profiles that will now default to optimized settings for running the game on Steam Deck. Do note that you’ll have to set the “Texture Pool Size” to a value called “Steam Deck” when running the game on Steam Deck. This is to avoid any RAM limits that may lead to crashes.

This new update also comes with a number of fixes. For instance, it fixes an issue where the Iraq cave door was closed when revisiting that level, preventing you from revisiting the main chamber. It also fixes an issue that could cause important progression items to be permanently dropped.

Update 4 Hotfix 2 brings improvements to the DualSense wireless controller Adaptive Triggers. Plus, it adds a new menu option to modify them.

Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below, you can also find its complete changelog. So, be sure to check it out.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Patch 4 Hotfix 2 Release Notes

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is now Verified for Steam Deck! Fresh game profiles will now default to optimized settings for running the game on Steam Deck.

  • Note: When running the game on Steam Deck, the “Texture Pool Size” is now set to a value called “Steam Deck” to avoid exceeding RAM limits that will crash the game. Other graphics options can still be adjusted to preference.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed issue where extremely rapid switching of your equipped items with the d-pad at the same time as picking other objects up could result in you permanently dropping important progression items such as your camera, lighter or whip. Players who have experienced this should find those items restored when launching the game with this hotfix installed
  • Fixed an issue where the Iraq cave door was closed when revisiting that level, preventing you from revisiting the main chamber
  • Improvements to DualSense wireless controller Adaptive Triggers to prevent them from quietly “clicking” when looking at friendly NPCs
  • Menu option added to allow modification of DualSense wireless controller Adaptive Trigger strength, including an “Off” option.
    • Note: For Steam players, the game now has Steam Input defaulted to Off for PlayStation controllers, so that more players can discover the DualSense features on PC. If you wish to reenable Steam Input, you can do that from the Controller section of the game Properties in the Steam launcher
  • Fixed an issue where the “Forgotten Page” activity note might fail to appear in Sunan’s hut in Sukhothai if you did not pick it up in the Hotel when first arriving in Sukhothai
  • Fixed one known cause of an issue preventing players from being given the “Archivist” achievement. Players should find that the achievement will pop as soon as gameplay is started after installing the hotfix. Other causes of this bug may exist; please contact Bethesda Support to share details if you continue to experience this issue

        1. I guarantee they do. Microsoft's current CEO has moved them significantly towards DEI, and Microsoft has a Chief Diversity Officer and Vice President of Talent Development (currently Lindsay-Rae McIntyre).

      1. It's really weird, actually.
IMDB used to mention them on the page about this game.
Now it's been removed… I guess they've realized that it's bad for the sales. 😅
I don't trust it and I assume that now they work like a shadow company. They're definitely still there.

Search for "IMDB Accidentally Exposes All Upcoming Sweet Baby Inc. Clients", there's an article about it.
I confirm that I did see with my own eyes the mention of Sweet Baby on the IMDB page.

      1. nah didnt you see? they had blue hairs working on it so that makes it automatically woke in a lot of people's eyes.

    1. I don't hate this game, but people giving you thumbs down don't exactly realize how much EVIL Sweet Baby Inc. is, I think…
These people have literally sworn to destroy video games, but well, I guess that they're okay with it…

  1. Still no quicksave, huh?
This is such a nonsensical design choice in an immersive sim "LITE".

Also, for the people arguing in the comments about the game being woke or not woke… This is taken from a Youtube video:

    – They mention a lesbian relationship at some point
    – Indiana Jones personality is nerfed
    – Main female character has a short hair cut
    – Can be a bit of a girl boss
    – They don't sexualize Gina
    – Cultural appropriation is mentioned at some point

So yeah I would say that even if it's subtle, it's still woke.
Wokism is extremely far from being dead anyway, and it's going to be much more vicious now, attacking in the shadows with more subtle strategies.

Personally, what I hate is that of all Indiana Jones movies, the developers seem to have taken most of their inspiration from the first one, and decided that the "girl boss" was a "canon" thing or whatever in the Indiana Jones universe.
I'm afraid that all future Indy games will have the same trope.

The next game will be the same, or even worse, with strong tattooed women with a buzz cut pushing Indy in his wheelchair or something.🤣
