2K Games revealed that Mafia: The Old Country will use the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. Moreover, the publisher shared the game’s official PC requirements, and confirmed its rumored August 8th release date. So, let’s see what PC system you’ll need to run it.
PC gamers will at least need an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X or Intel Core i7-9700K with 16GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT or NVIDIA RTX 2070. With this PC, you’ll be able to run it at 1080p on Medium Settings. The game will also require 55GB of free disk space.
Hangar13 recommends an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X or Intel Core i7-12700K with 32GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT or NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti. With such a PC system, you will be able to play the game at 1440p on High settings. Sadly, though, we don’t know the framerate these PC specs target.
Mafia: The Old Country will be using Unreal Engine 5. So, my guess is that it will run similarly to the recent UE5 games we’ve covered. Let’s at least hope that there won’t be any traversal stutters. Heh, who am I kidding? Of course and there will be traversal stutters.
As said, 2K Games will release this new Mafia game on August 8th. The publisher has also shared its first gameplay trailer which you can find below. So, go ahead and take a look at it.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

Why'd they switched from their in-house to UE5?
Mafia 1 Remake looked pretty good
To make it easy on their (((DEI)))/(((BRIDGE))) hires
Yeah, peeps who uses blueprints, copy/paste generic suits all code or use bloated generic api's (code-monkey style) instead of code proper performant c++ code where it matters… and yet some wonder why the games performance went to trash and below – While the visuals haven't really improved to warrant that performance been thrown out the window…
more devs get trained on ue5 out of school. its cheaper to grab up someone for an engine they're already familiar with that you can license than it is to hire someone and pay for training or further engine development.
And you can port it to multiple platforms easily.
UE5 is cheap, easy to use and powerful. Its extremely stupid to not use it from business point of view. Inhouse engines alone often cost around 30-50m to be relevant, very few studios can afford that.
There is nothing inherently wrong with UE5, its just devs skip optimization and unwashed masses hate it because it doesnt run well on their ancient potato.
They already had an engine
And games on it looked really good like Mafia 1R

I bought the Defenitive edition on steam but wont buy this one with Denuvo.
Yeah, denuvo is a great way to save money… if they eventually remove it ill wait for a deep discount since i waited anyway
I've been doing the same thing Denuvo saves me so much money
"So, my guess is that it will run similarly to the recent UE5 games we’ve covered"
so it looks average runs like crap.
Very interested and I'm surprised they're going with such heavy Recommended specs. For a big franchise game like this to charge $50 though makes me think it'll be a much shorter affair.
Yeah put the denuvo on this generic repetitive open world trash number 5302 that I wouldn't play even if it was free.
These dense low IQ devs are always high on drugs thinking their trash is worth more than a penny to anyone with more braincells than a squirrel.
It's not open world, more like Uncharted or Tomb Raider 2013 reboot.
It's gonna be a liniar game.
It's also 50$ not 80.
On consoles,me and many don't have Denuvo like problems or driver issues or updates.
Still,Mafia 2 i had it on xbox360,pirated of course.
I buy games only from 2019,before there were dc++,limewire, isohunt….good times.
But my average spending reached 2 or max 3 games/year.
Most developers, the artists use psychedelics..for inspiration.
Dj's,movie makers…artists in general use drugs for art.
Look what i crafted 13 to 16 years ago(what i mostly used my PC back then)

I gave up posting often, from 2012 then even fewer in 2015+ as for the newer/latest uploads(digital paint,no AI) i found them on a stick drive in a drawer at my parents home when i was visiting.
Good riddance, I never liked this POS franchise anyway, not even the older games.
and what did you like? some obscure weeb side scroller, or Call of Fortnite?
No, I like old SP sci-fi shooters that feature futuristic suits or humanoid robots made by masculine men at the time for masculine men such as myself. I like a lot of other games with completely different themes as well, but this is my favorite. No extremely weeb games though, things made for sissies like Genshit Impact make me want to gouge my eyes out just by looking at its ugly characters, let alone playing that dog turd.
ahh, so you like sci-fi. then what the hell do you want from Mafia games dude?
You do realize that I actually played the games and even wanted to like Mafia, but couldn't because of how they're filled with extremely repetitive driving?
I was hyped on the idea that it looks like GTA (don't know if they actually marketed them like that back in the day, but that's how they looked to me at least when I played them around 2018), but the games themselves were just filled with so much driving, the police were oddly everywhere in the city and probably other reasons that I forgot for now that ruined the games for me (that's how it was like in the second game at least AFAIR). What's this, a police state that's why there are cops everywhere?
EDIT: Also, like I said; although sci-fi shooters are my favorite, they aren't the only things that I like. I also like so many things as well, including open world games where you can do mindless mayhem just like GTA, Saints Row (the older games), Red Faction Guerrilla, Crackdown, etc. which is pretty much what made me try the Mafia games in the first place.
You know what doesn't have Denuvo? Clair Obscur, and whether people like the game or not, it has sold very well, even with it being on Gamepass.
It's incredible how these stupid people at these companies seem to think that their garbage, needs a guard dog.
Garbage, is garbage, and nobody will try to take it, not matter how much security you put around it.
Meanwhile, games that provide what people are looking for, will sell well, because unlike what these morons think, no, 99% of humanity, are not "thieves", in fact, I'd say these corporations are the thieves.
Mafia games (Except the woke BLM one) are very very decent games, not garbage
Nothing wrong with Mafia 3, has one of the best take down kill animations I've ever seen.
I’m sure it was nice, but the r3tarded narrative ruined the whole game. making it about race again, and the final boss looking like Trump? sorry no, I’m not playing their stupid propaganda games like a good NPC citizen
but at the same time denuvo is proven to work, thats why so many games have it. Sales of Denuvo games are usually 30% higher then they would be without.
Thats why they bother with it.
I agree with your sentiment but business is business. You do min max everything especially if you paddle crap.
That trailer looks meh, and the scripted movements don't look very good…and with Denuvo. No buy!
Will sail the high seas I guess…
Minimum requirements: "basically XSX and PS5 GPU horsepower" for 1080p30 Medium, lol.
My body is ready… to be disappointed.. hope I'm wrong.
2K games is rushing this game out of the door without proper refinements,
The trailer gameplay stutter without stop, if they couldn't even get some optimized gameplay right for a tech demo, I don't have much hope for this game, UE5 + Denuvo + Sloppy Optimizations the unholy trinity of Triple A gaming in 2025 and beyond.
It plays like Mafia 3, therefore hard pass
Well hey at least we know that regardless of what you use it will run like a$$
Last time they butchered the original Mafia 1 so my expectations are low.
I enjoyed Mafia definitive edition, never played the original but it was great. dear lord gamers are taking Karen complaining to another level
Ah Denuvo… wheres al-qaeda and isis when you need em?
Well hey at least we know that regardless of what you use it will run like a*s
the tribester scum that own these studios make sure there's always a cross in the shot in key photos and stills in movies, the godfather genre is originated by a crypto tribester puzo financed by his brethren and directed by another crypto coppola who also is the king of nepo with different names etc etc. The reason for the cross in the shot is called projection onto others, a form of scapegoating others for their own filth. The mafia is a masonic formed org and the masons are dupe idito foot soldiers for the tribesters, dumbos. The 1/3 or 33% that followed the tribesters down like fallen angels following lucy down. A meteor that causes extinction fallen from the heights, the story is used even in their faf scientism garbage.
And again, as in all previous Mafia games, voices are sounding like MP3 96kbps. Not as bad as all Assassin's Creed games (excluding Odyssey), whose audio files are recorded at 22kHz 77kbps (read: waaaaaay worse than Youtube 144p), but still…
It's 20 MF'ing 25, not 1990.
Heard that the game is linear based, no open world, the price point makes sense to skip.
They need to sell, but at the same time they keep giving us reasons not to buy!
Thankfully I'm not in a hurry, so I guess I'll wait for another year to buy the final version with a discount!
