Now here is something interesting. Separuh Interactive is currently working on a new Resident Evil-inspired Indonesian horror game, called Agni: Village of Calamity. Agni: Village of Calamity is a cinematic survival horror game that appears to be using Unreal Engine 5, and below you can find a 13-minute gameplay video for it.
In Agni: Village of Calamity, you play as Agni, a determined investigator from a covert Indonesian police unit who defied orders and ventures into a remote village despite ominous warnings.
Players will explore the eerie village, uncover its dark secrets, and confront terrifying horrors as you go deeper into the nexus of the mystery. They will also navigate through a cold atmosphere, solve puzzles, and survive against relentless threats.
Now what’s cool here is that the game will have a fixed camera perspective reminiscent of the greatest classics of the genre. And, since it uses UE5, it will push some beautiful visuals. You can get a pretty good idea of what the team aims to create in the following video. So, be sure to watch it.
The devs have also shared some preliminary PC requirements. According to them, PC gamers will at least need an Intel i5-8400 with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GTX 1070. The game will require 65GB of free disk space, and it will support both DX11 and DX12. Separuh Interactive recommends using an Intel i7-10700K with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA RTX 3070.
Since this is an indie game, I strongly suggest tempering your expectations. As you will see, it is rough around the edges. Still, for an indie game, it certainly punches above its weight. And that’s mainly thanks to UE5.
There is currently no ETA for when the game will come out. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.

Exactly! I played way too many horror games (I play horror games, as well as other games mostly for the gameplay, with almost everything else can be welcome addition to the game), among them including Doom 3, F.E.A.R. 1, Dead Space (2008), etc. These games, while I undoubtedly consider them to be great games and are regarded by the community to be really scary, they mostly relied on violence and gore for scare rather than actual horror and barely scared me personally.
But the older Silent Hill games? Man, they just give me the creeps just by looking at their pictures and I have yet to play them (my bro played SH3 years ago [as well as the original SH2 later], it was literally the very first game that he constantly ended his play sessions after very short play time because of how it really scared him).
I recently beat a game called Omori, a JRPG that is an emotional rollercoaster that mixes themes of depression, suicide, happiness, tragedy, sadness, friendship, etc., and most important out of them all, the strong psychological horror elements. I personally beat the game in 30 hours since I was doing so many side quests (though I've read so many people beat it in like 20-25 hours). It does its themes of friendship perfectly that no other game did them in ways that weren't just flat "Hi! We just met and got to know each other for the first time ever, BFF till the rest of the game!" and it does its humor just right as well that it's the literal game that I laughed the most at, but man, when it does its psychological horror, it sure does them more than right that I literally forgot that its the same game that I developed an emotional connection with the friends that I previously met and burst out of laughter before a horror section started.
Even the "jumpscares" (which I, as well as is normally to be expected from the average gamer, are harsh critics of), were done in a unique way; it doesn't just throw an extremely loud sound all of a sudden, almost all (if not all AFAIR) of the "jumpscares" are merely visual without just throwing a loud sound for an extremely cheap jumpscare, and so many jumpscares are actually optional and can be entirely avoided (you are on your own based on what you interact and what you leave). I literally never knew that you can have a "jumpscare" without throwing a loud sound as the term "jumpscare" was mostly popularized because of the internet.
Man, the themes of friendship, the comedy, the well-written dialogue, the attention to details in the story (I noticed literally zero plot holes during my playthrough, and I sure do notice even small plot holes even in story-driven games), as well as attention to details to the game itself and so many things about it, especially its artistic horror that is nothing short of pure art are just 10/10 that made it the best game I've ever played (it's the very first game that I rate it a 10/10, and I've played wide, wide range of games, like 1000+ games). It's not really surprising that the game turned out to be that good and far exceeded my expectations in almost every single way as it literally spent 6 and a half years in development from early 2014 to December 2020 to the point that people literally believed it to be a scam at first and after all of these years of waiting since it was Kickstarted.
Though I'm not fanboying or saying that the game is without even a single flaw (no game is without flaws), in fact, the game has some major flaws that may unfortunately cause some players to drop the game mid-playthrough. But still, when everything previously mentioned is considered, and especially by the time you beat it and seen everything, it far outweighs its flaws and is highly replayable (in fact, it is designed with replayability in mind).
I just like to warn you that if you are going to play it, there are spoilers everywhere for the game, so I recommend not even typing its name on search engines mid playthrough (unless it was really necessary) as you could stumble upon spoilers even on search suggestions.
