GTA 5 Natural Vision Enhanced-1

GTA 5 Natural Vision Enhanced looks mind-blowing in first screenshots

The team behind the Natural Vision Mod has released the first screenshots for its upcoming version for GTA 5 Enhanced Edition. These screenshots will blow you away as they make GTA 5 look like a next-gen title. Yep, they are THAT good. And yes, the header image is a screenshot from it.

Now the good news here is that Natural Vision Enhanced will be available for free to everyone. That’s what its modding team claimed on its Discord channel. As such, it will compete with both RealityV and ChromatiX Enhanced.

Moreover, Natural Vision Enhanced will allow all light sources to cast shadows. This will further enhance the game’s ray-traced shadows. Thus, all objects will now cast RT shadows. And, to give you an idea, the team shared these comparison screenshots.

From what I know, Razed plans to release Natural Vision Enhanced in Spring 2025. The team is also working on a trailer that will go live soon. Sadly, though, there is no ETA for when that will happen.

As you will see from the screenshots at the end of the article, GTA 5 Enhanced can look glorious with this mod. Now I know some will go ahead and say <<Oh look, it looks as good as GTA 6.>> but let’s be realistic. It does not look as good as GTA 6. Still, it manages to come close to it (which is a huge accomplishment).

GTA 5 Enhanced Edition introduced Ray Tracing effects to the PC version. To be more precise, it now supports RTGI, RTAO, RT shadows, and RT reflections. At specific times, these RT effects can greatly improve the game’s visuals.

Until Natural Vision Enhanced comes out, you can try two other visual/graphics mods for it. These are the RealityV Mod and the ChromatiX Enhanced. Both of them aim to improve the graphics of the vanilla version. And, to be honest, both of them look great. So, make sure to try one of them if you are planning to play GTA 5 Enhanced Edition.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. I installed GTA 5 Enhanced earlier today, and I played it for a few hours. It just looks like GTA 5, but maybe with better texture quality and less blurriness (I can turn off the horrible DOF). I tried turning on the raytracing, it looked like GTA 5. I set the raytracing quality to Ultra, and it still looked like GTA 5. I turned the raytracing off, and it looked almost exactly the same (the reflection in the side of my car was slightly different). There's no real noticeable difference with raytracing, other than the huge FPS hit.

As for John's screenshots, they don't look that good. It still looks like GTA 5, but a little more shiny/glossy. The contrast may also look a little stronger, but I can do that with ReShade.

You know what looks better? Tonemapping the game to HDR with an addon for ReShade. Yeah, you can't play multiplayer like that, but I'm perma banned from GTO Online anyway (it's what I get for buying a megalodon shark card on Steam).

    1. RT can drastically change the look of the game (sometimes for worse), but Rockstar has struck the perfect balance. GTA5 still has similar look and atmosphere, yet if you know what RT does and where to look, the difference is quite big. RT GI is noticeable everywhere and thanks to it objects are finally well grounded into the scene.

Cascaded shadow maps in the original game looked like crap because the shadows were drawn right in front of the character and that was very distracting to me. RT shadows solves this problem. I also like how shadows change during the day. Shadow can be really long and sharp (hard shadows), but also soft and diffused depending on the time of the day.

Performance is very good considering the scale of this game. At 1440p DLAA (native) with maxed out settings I get around 140fps. At 4K native around 80fps. With Very High RT instead of Ultra I get around 110fps at 4K native. With DLSSQ my GPU is always GPU limited. I had some stuttering when the game was released, but recent patches have fixed this and the game now runs perfectly.

      1. I just did some more testing with the raytracing in GTA 5 Enhanced a few hours ago, and the reflections in my car looked horrible and pixelated. The reflections without raytracing were so much better looking. I was using DLAA on Preset J (the clearer of the Transformer model's presets).

I finally just gave up on DLAA as well, and switch AA off to use SMAA and FXAA injected via ReShade. The FPS is higher.

        1. Reflections look pixelated because they are upscaled to the native resolution without any filtering. Ray Reconstruction would help, but it should be possible to increase the resolution of the reflections in the ini settings as well.

          1. My comparison proves the lightings looks much better with RT, but RT reflection resolution could he higher. On my I can fix this imperfection just by running the game at higher resolution because this game isnt very demanding even with RT.

If you can't see what RT does in GTA5 and prefer raster lighting, just play the vanilla version.

          2. Raytracing barely does anything in the game. The shadows look slightly different (not better in my opinion and barely noticeable to begin with), and the reflections look horrible. The lighting isn't noticeably different. I can achieve significantly more with ReShade shaders.

          3. I'm an artist, and I've been trained to see the light, because I have to work with it. From my perspective RT made a huge difference in GTA5. I have shared this comparison on various forums and you are the first person who isnt impressed and who struggle to notice a difference. It seems you simply dont know what RT does and where to look.

I dont want to be an ashole, but your comments about RT are pure nonsense and you make yourself look stupid by claming than you can achieve better results with reshade shaders.

          4. The difference in shadows and lighting is almost completely unnoticeable on my PC (or at least it was until I turned the shadow quality down to "Sharp" to minimize the dithering so I could play without TAA/DLAA).
