La Quimera feature-1

La Quimera, futuristic sci-fi shooter from former Metro: Exodus devs, will release on April 25th

Reburn announced that La Quimera, its narrative-driven first-person-shooter game set in a futuristic Latin American megalopolis, will release on April 25th. To celebrate this announcement, the team has shared a new trailer that you can find below.

Reburn will also host a closed beta for 24 hours starting April 12th at 7am PT / 3pm BST / 4pm CEST. Fans can request closed beta access on La Quimera’s Steam page. Participants will be able to access a part of a pivotal mid-game mission in solo or co-op play.

Dmytro Lymar, CEO and co-founder of Reburn, said:

“Our Reburn team can’t wait to finally share our hard work and vision for La Quimera with players on April 25. Ahead of our release, we invite players to join us in our closed beta to get an early look at the co-op experience for our vision of Nuevo Caracas and far beyond.”

As said, a new trailer was also released. This gameplay trailer pulls back the curtain on La Quimera’s blend of exosuit abilities, futuristic weaponry, and robotic enemies standing between the PMC and its objectives.

La Quimera is Reburn’s first original video game IP. The world and narrative of La Quimera is written and created by Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, The Neon Demon) and E.J.A. Warren. The game tells the story of a down-on-their-luck PMC group caught up in a vast conflict between rival factions and shadowy corporations, as mystical events increasingly blur the line between reality and illusion.

One of the key features of the game will be its exosuits. These exosuits will allow players to engage in intense combat. Thus, they can utilize high-tech gadgetry and superhuman strength to outwit their enemies.

Reburn’s roster of developers includes lead gameplay designers, artists, sound engineers, programmers, and more from across the entire Metro series. Metro 2033, Last Light, and Exodus gameplay and AI designer Oleksandr Kostiuk serves as project lead on La Quimera. CEO and founder Dmytro Lymar previously served as director and CEO of 4A Games Ukraine.

Reburn has not shared the game’s PC system requirements yet. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to share them once they become available.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. its a strange killzone like game to me .and im hyped .im also hyped for that weird game mindseye .they both release soon and i wish they r two great old school linear games that i love

  2. Crysis meets Killzone. Weird video though, it was like watching someone who had never played an FPS game before (hardly any movement or use of cover), just stood in the open and shooting.

  3. So a Ukrainian studio made a game in a Latin American setting? That seems a little odd, but if it turns out to be good and there's a way to disable the AA (or at least a decent alternative to Temporal AA) then I might give it a try.

  4. We got Crysis/COD at home.

Looks like what a 12 y/o would be playing in the background in a movie… Pew pew.

  5. Had me sold at Linear, add to that "AA", SP, Sci-fi, New IP. Flashing back to the good old days. rando new IPs and ideas weekly.

      1. As long as I get pretty set pieces and 8 hours of brain numb. I'm happy.( I'm tired of having to think/tear down all the modern Propaganda and just want FUN)

  6. I was all in until "Play solo or Coop"…
This means it's not SP focused and as always MP content finds a way to make a game bland and uninteresting.
No problem with MP games but i prefer MP games to be MP games, this whole seamless thing is just a way to win both audiences but ultimately end up winning no one.
