IGN has shared an 8-minute deep-dive gameplay trailer for the new survival FPS from former STALKER devs, Forest Reigns. This trailer highlights three distinct mission approaches. As such, it emphasizes player freedom and environmental interaction in post-apocalyptic Paris.
In this video, we get to see a direct assault approach, a stealth attack, and an exploration approach. In direct assault, players will fight alongside a squad, use firepower, and manipulate the hostile environment to their advantage. A stealth approach is exactly what comes to your mind. Players can strike from the shadows, use nature as a tool, and turn enemies against each other. Finally, by exploring the environments, you can find hidden paths, turn environmental traps to your advantage, and use the city’s remnants to outsmart foes.
This sounds really cool. The only thing I hope is that every mission in the game will offer this flexibility. It will be cool to have the freedom to approach and complete missions in different ways.
Forest Reigns will be a solid single-player FPS with a twisted story, exploration, survival, role-playing elements, and an interactive environment.
The game will also have realistic weapon handling and tons of customizable gear. Oh, and you will be able to craft, scavenge, and loot your enemies or surroundings. So, pretty much what you’d expect from a new post-apocalyptic survival game.
There is currently no ETA of when Forest Reigns will come out. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!
