Mafia The Old Country

The release window for Mafia: The Old Country has been leaked

It appears that the release window for Mafia: The Old Country has been leaked. According to an ad that appeared on X/Twitter, the game will come out on PC and consoles in the Summer of 2025.

The ad also features some new in-engine footage from a new trailer. This trailer will most likely air tomorrow, during the TGA 2024 event.

In Mafia: The Old Country, players will discover how organized crime began. The game will attempt to tell a tough and intense story set in the violent world of 1900s Sicily.

Players will fight to stay alive in this dangerous and harsh time. As the devs noted, the game will have authentic realism and rich storytelling, things that the Mafia series is well known for.

And that is that. I can’t wait to see the new in-engine trailer for this new Mafia game. From what I’ve seen so far, this will be a great-looking title.

For those wondering, the game’s Steam store page was also updated to indicate the Summer 2025 release window. So, this is a legit leak. However, there aren’t yet any PC requirements.

Stay tuned for more!

      1. The remake was great. I played through it just a couple of weeks ago as it was free with Amazon Prime. It was good enough to have me interested enough about this one. I will check out 3, but skip 2 based on the reviews.

        1. Umm. I think you have that backwards. You should skip 3 and check out mafia 2… 2 is literally the game fans love. 3 was the one the fans hate.

      2. I heard the Mafia 1 remake had forced TAA just like Mafia 3. Granted that's only one of the reasons why Mafia 3 sucked (it was also boring), but I can't stand TAA and would rather take a pass on anything with forced TAA.

I do actually own the Mafia 1 remake (they called it "Mafia: Definitive Edition" if I remember right), so maybe I'll grab the "Remove TAA blur" mod from Nexus Mods and see if it's any good. That being said I got the original Mafia for free when I pre-ordered Mafia II many years ago, so I could just play that again and enjoy the way the game was originally meant to be, and not have to have a mod to disable bad graphics technology.

  1. "As the devs noted, the game will have authentic realism and rich storytelling"
Let us just hope is not as authentic as AC: Niggatry, shall we?

  2. 100% the game will have dialogues like that:
    – "Look how they massacred my boy."
    – "Girl. She's a girl, you zealous bigot. How dare you misgendering her?"
    – "My bad. Wait, let me do 20 pushups as punishment according to the mafia rules."

  3. Well if it's like Mafia 3 and you are a map janitor like in Far Cry series, it's doomed.
If it's like Mafia 1 remake, there might be some hopes.
