Soulframe feature-1

Digital Extreme’s free-to-play action hybrid MMORPG, Soulframe, will come out on PC in 2025

Digital Extremes has announced that its free-to-play action hybrid MMORPG, Soulframe: Preludes, will be released in 2025. To celebrate this announcement, the team has shared a new small trailer, which you can find below.

Soulframe will feature open-world co-op gameplay, and it will feature its own independent and immersive fantasy experience. The game will also feature an entirely unique world with a heavy focus on themes of nature, restoration, and history in a brand-new world.

And… well… that’s it. Digital Extremes has not shared any additional details for Soulframe. Hell, the game does not even have a store page on Steam. My guess is that it will be available on Steam at launch as Warframe is also available on Steam.

Anyway, other than a 2025 date, there is nothing to add to this story. Moreover, since this trailer does not show much, I’ve also included the latest devstream for Soulframe. So, be sure to check it out.

Enjoy!

  1. F2P MMORPG = addictive game where progression is intentionally slowed down to make you spend money on their cash shop

Avoiding these games is essential to your own well-being.

Not that the average gamer heeds these warnings, they're all throwing themselves at microtransaction games like POE2.

    1. I played Warframe as well and he is right. I don't know why you would take an issue to what he said, because it is critical of the F2P formula?

    2. Very well said. I grew up playing runescape and darksouls; I enjoy the grind. As for the comment above saying this game isn't premium – I played the hell out warframe and then got destiny 2 and everytime I would play destiny I would think to myself, "why don't I just play warframe?" The movement and overall game play is just better and the devs actually give a sh*t about the players

        1. Yeah, the gunplay, movement, and environment are just better in D2. However, Bungie has screwed it all up with quite literally every single decision they've made since WQ, and about half of what they did before that was garbage as well.

    3. Actually, if you aren't a fool who gets caught up in buying crap you can earn through playing then it's a great formula.
I prefer it, because I can play the content and if I enjoy it I use the micro transactions like a tipping system.
a really fun game that I spend lots of time enjoying will get a few bucks from me here and there for resources or cosmetics, while a bad game gets me uninstalling.
it's a much, much better system than Destiny 2, where you pay upfront and maybe it's good, maybe not. In the last three years Bungie has consistently under delivered and continues to troll their player base by listening only to the people who will accept anything.
