Earlier this week, POLARIS QUEST revealed a game that looked like a Horizon ripoff, called Light of Motiram. Light of Motiram had the exact same style and type of enemies as Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West. And today, a video got leaked, featuring 16 minutes of gameplay footage from it.
Now contrary to the Horizon series, Light of Motiram is your typical online survival game. In other words, think of it as Horizon meets Palworld/Lost Ark. And, as you will see from the leaked gameplay video, it seems as boring as it sounds.
I was never a fan of all these online survival games. However, it appears to be a huge crowd for them. Basically, the online survival/crafting games have gotten as boring as all the battle royale titles. Very few of them are popular and almost everyone tries to become the next big hit.
What’s also funny is the game’s description on Steam. At first glance, it makes it sound pretty good. I mean, who wouldn’t want a game with realistic physics, a precise combat system, and huge bosses? And, since it’s a Horizon ripoff, you’d think that it’d play similarly. But no. Instead, Light of Motiram’s combat feels as flat and uninspiring as it can get. In other words, it plays like almost all the other online survival/crafting games.
And I get it, we shouldn’t judge a game from a beta gameplay video. But, this title has red flags all over it. Okay okay, these red flags are not in the same league as those of The Day Before. There is an actual game here. However, it does not excite me in the slightest.
Perhaps I’m not the target group for this title. Perhaps other PC gamers will love it. Perhaps there are people who wanted a Lost Ark game with a Horizon skin. Perhaps it will become a success. I mean, they at least got more coverage than a lot of other online survival/crafting games. So, kudos to them.
There is currently no ETA on when the game will come out. My guess is that we’re looking at a 2025 Early Access game, with the final version coming in 2026 or 2027.

we had mario ripoffs, castlevania and metroid ripoffs doom clones, when tomb raider was popular they faied to make anything like it, just third person action adventure games, cod ripoffs, some battlefield ripoffs, years after diablo every indie dev who couldnt do a proper rpg made diablo clones then you got minecraft ripoffs and now we are in the souls like and vampire survivors and stardew valley ripoffs.

I agree, but I don't know if they can sue for this because this game have supply gathering for base building, things that horizon doesn't have. But we'll see, I just find it interesting that they know how to make a PC game/proper port and big Sony can't even be bothered.

Interestingly, before Guerrilla Gaymes was hijacked and became what it is nowadays, the prototype footage from 2011 had guns and looked far more interesting than the Jewish POS we got, it also had the Killzone HUD because it was made by the same studio who made the Killzone series (regardless of whether you think Killzone is just a generic FPS or even a bad game, you have to admit that, as an idea, it's 1000x times more interesting than this Satanic anti-male POS Soyrizon).

Anytime I see that in a game, I usually click uninstall. I have way too much respect for my time these days. It’s just unnecessary. It tells me that they don’t respect the PC platform.

In my mind Horizon is a failing series( look at the steam numbers for a AAAAA game) modernity did us dirty and made Robots, Dinosaurs and PEAK environmental graphics…..GAY and LAME( If i cared enough about anything I'd make a Youtube video breaking down how HZD is peak anti-male)(but I'm Black-pilled). Yes the series is undeniably woke, but i must admit i enjoyed them. Below the cancerous story&setting elements of this series there is actually a good game.
It's almost as if there are two different competing heads in modern game developing studios, the technnicians/creators: the people can design, code, engineer, test, draw, model, animate, compose, etc. and the cancer… the """narrative designers""" the """consultants""" and their ilk, "people" that know nothing but to parasitize and inject their dogmas into the game.
Even the main story itself lends itself really well to a videogame story or a b-tier sci-fi movie, if you can ignore the dei you can actually have an ok time with it.
