New STALKER 2 Mod adds a cool Parkour-like climbing system

STALKER 2 came out last week and we’ve already gotten some truly amazing mods for it. Today, we bring you a mod that adds a Parkour-like climbing system to the game. Thanks to this, players will have access to places that were previously inaccessible. As such, it’s a must-have mod, at least in my opinion.

Going into more details, the Ledge Grabbing Mod allows Skif to to mantle onto anything just above head height. This modded mantling system improves functionality and QoL. It will also allow for more vertical gameplay opportunities and environment traversal.

For instance, you can now climb to higher places to avoid mutants. You can also climb trucks and fences so that you can get to stashes that were previously inaccessible.

Here’s a good example. In the Rookie Village, there is a hidden stash right outside the town. This stash is on a rooftop inside a house, and there is a truck outside the house. So, normally, you’d assume that you’d be able to climb the truck. The front of the truck is at a similar height to the fences that Skiff can climb. And while you can climb the fences, you cannot climb the truck. I don’t know if this is a bug or not. What I know is that there is no other way to get to the rooftop (no ladders or crates to climb, no hidden passage from inside the house, nothing). So, without the mod, you cannot climb to the rooftop of that house. With this mod, you can finally climb the truck and get to the stash.

What’s also interesting here is that this mod comes in two variations. The default version allows Skif to climb all objects that are as high as himself. The second version allows you to climb objects that are a little lower than your head height. Both of them also come with Melee and jump Stamina reduction versions.

In short, this is a must-have mod for STALKER 2. At least in my opinion. So, go ahead and download it from this link.

Speaking of STALKER 2, I also suggest taking a look at these other mods for it. Let’s start with the Draw Distance Mod. This mod will reduce the pop-ins of trees and vegetation. However, it comes with a pretty big performance hit. On my NVIDIA RTX 4090, I got a 10-20FPS performance hit. So, use it only if you have a high-end GPU.

Then we have this mod that attempts to restore most of the online A-Life functionality. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than the vanilla version. This is a must until GSC GameWorld fixes A-Life 2.0. Finally, you can download a mod that will remove the inventory carry/weight limit. I’m not a fan of this last mod but hey, some of you may like it.

For what it’s worth, the devs have already released two patches. The first patch had over 650 fixes, whereas the second one focused on quest blockers. Sadly, these patches do not address any of the aforementioned issues. The good news here is that these mods are compatible with the game’s latest version. As such, you will be able to use them without experiencing any conflicts.

Have fun and stay tuned for more!

  1. Johns lizard died in childbirth and died in childbirth and died in childbirth and died in childbirth and died on his mind and the pumping of his life was a very long and very long day at the thought for the surprise that was the next room I had a stern was that the only one I had to spoil is the fact in the world I have to do something really bad to everyone in this world is the worst thing that can happen in a way to an unrestricted flow of unwanted.

  2. wow, what a literal game changer. So Cool. the ability to get elevation changes combat fundamentally. GSC hire this man.

  3. I'm worried that this might cause inadvertent sequence-breaking; there are a number of places where it's not really obvious if you're supposed to be limited in movement or not, which is why I assume this isn't the default.

      1. John, I've stopped myself from playing this game because I feel like they're going to fix a lot of annoying sh*t in this game.
Now that you've finished it, how would you rate the game compared to anomaly or at least clear sky?

        1. I don’t remember the Anomaly Mod (or the Complete Mod) that much, but ohhhhhh boyyyyyyyyyyy. The last mission (I did the Kaimanov ending) is completely broken due to poor AI. Enemies shoot you behind objects, they can one-kill you, the damage you receive is huge (compared to the rest of the game), the game spawns enemies constantly at times behind you. That mission is a broken mess.

Overall, the story is quite good. Not exceptional but it gets the job done. The fact that you can also have three endings is a plus for me (the game makes it crystal clear when you can join a specific side, it doesn’t happen at the last minute). It’s just that even with the latest patches, the game still has A LOT of issues. Its core mechanics and atmosphere are incredible.

The in-game save says that it took me 36-40 hours, but Steam says that I’ve played 55 hours (I was playing the last mission for five hours as I was constantly dying, even though I was headshoting most of my enemies).

In its current state, it’s a 6/10 for me. When – and if – they fix all the bugs (not talking about performance), it will be a 9/10 for me.

          1. Unlike UE4, every UE5 game I’ve played oozes with atmosphere and appealing visuals (Rogue City, Ready or Not, Silent Hill 2 Remake, and now this).
I just miss taking loners with me to bunkers, hunting mutants, or seeing multiple factions fight with mutants or each other. The world doesn’t feel alive to me at this point because of AI and spawns.
I just saw Raphael Colantonio praising it on twitter but I still don’t want to play it until it’s fixed.

  4. This is such a cool mod. I guess the author just increased the maximum height for which you can climb stuff, but it feels liberating to be able to climb more stuff and explore a bit more of the game!
