STALKER 2 Draw Distance Mod is a must for all high-end gamers

One of my biggest issues with STALKER 2’s visuals was the constant pop-ins of trees, grass, and objects. Even on its highest settings, the game had a very limited draw distance. As a result of that, a lot of objects appear right in front of you. It’s really awful. Thankfully, though, there is a mod that completely addresses this issue.

So, the mod I tried is called “MVT Trees and Grass LOD Tweak for 4090 users and QUALITY enjoyers”. This mod will significantly improve the draw distance of grass, vegetation, and trees. And, you know what? It actually works.

Thanks to this mod, I had very minimal pop-ins on sunny days. On rainy days, it was impossible to notice the pop-ins. Similarly, at night, everything feels great even when sprinting.

I cannot stress enough how important this mod is for all high-end PC owners of STALKER 2. While this does not match the quality of Nanite, it is miles better than what we got in the vanilla version. And although it comes with a performance hit, it is worth it. Seriously, this will make you better appreciate the big forests and the world that GSC GameWorld has created.

You can go ahead and download the mod from this link. At the end of the article, you can also find two videos. The first video shows the pop-in issues that can be easily noticed in the vanilla version. The second video shows the modded version which fixes those annoying issues.

Speaking of STALKER 2, I also recommend this mod that aims to somehow fix the broken A-Life 2.0 system. You can also download two other cool mods for it. The first one removes the inventory weight limit, which seems to require some balance tweaks. The second makes the Bloodsuckers and Poltergeists less tanky. Finally, GSC GameWorld plans to release the first patch for STALKER 2 this week. Or at least that’s what they claimed last week. So, since it’s Friday, it will most likely go live later today (or during the weekend). Naturally, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

  2. Kudos to mod creators finish the job once again,the game shouldn't be shipped with such poor lod management to begin with,the constantly pop-in and low detail distant environment assets are such a joke

  4. This is just adjusting LOD for showing some more trees from farther away. Should be just a Vegetation LOD slider at a high value, and that's it.
    So, being such a simple fix I'd expect this to come native in a few patches when the game is being polished some more.
    Why this little of an increase in vegetation amount recommends a 4090? Inconceivable.

    If you check the readme, it does say though, that this mod breaks settlments and some quest NPC afaik.

  7. What high-end gamers? Those who own a 4090 and still can't play this game smoothly, especially in the cutscenes where the frame rate drops drastically?

  8. It absolutely boggles my mind how a game dev can release something with simple draw distance issues like this, and still slap us in the face with a $60 price tag.
