Alan Wake 2 new feature

Alan Wake 2 Patch 1.2.4 Released & Fully Detailed

Remedy has just released Title Update 1.2.4 for Alan Wake 2, and shared its full patch notes. Although this new patch mainly focuses on the game’s latest DLC, it still packs some tweaks for the main game. So, let’s see what it brings to the table.

Title Update 1.2.4 will now allow you to boost the flashlight while reloading the weapon (canceling the reload in the process). It will also fix an issue where the player was not able to shoot after a partial weapon reload. Plus, it fixes an issue where the DualSense adaptive triggers kept on rumbling and doing the wrong thing at the wrong time.

Regarding the DLC, Patch 1.2.4 packs minor fixes and stability improvements. It also fixes some shadow banding on the final The Lake House cinematic. Moreover, it solves a rare case where the player would get stuck in the elevator when returning to Sublevel 1.

Like always, EGS will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

Alan Wake 2 Patch 1.2.4 Release Notes

  • Fixed an issue where the DualSense adaptive triggers kept on rumbling and doing the wrong thing at the wrong time

The Lake House Fixes and Improvements

  • Sent in some additional resource boxes that appear right before the final boss fight, as they should in video games. Stock up!

  • Fixed some shadow banding on the final The Lake House cinematic

  • Various localization fixes
  • Minor fixes and stability improvements

  1. Steam?

jokes aside, I think Im gonna give up on them adding native fsr frame gen. I finished Lake House last month and thought it was alright and I love seeing Janina Gavankar get work so it'll be cool to see her in a future title. I think I'll evnetually give AW2 another spin but hopefully theyll add FSR frame gen by then or I'd have at least upgraded to a 50 series if the tariffs dont hit us in the US too bad.

      1. Oh wow, I would think the input lag would be more noticeable in that case with 2 FG running on top of each other. Ill have to give it a try when I go back to finish out the final chapter.

        1. The FSR mod I was using was also providing Anti-Lag 2. Input lag isn't all that when playing with a controller. As long as you locked to 120 fps while using FG x4, input is IMO very responsive.

          1. I agree with that. I’ve been using AFMF 2 while playing Veilguard on a controller because of that. Ill have to give that second play a try with controller then because It did feel pretty fine on MnK.

    1. Try Lossless Scaling! It has decent quality and performance!
For input lag you can also try the Nvidia Reflex implementation from Riva Turner!

  2. Alan wake game without alan wake being playable: stunning and brave

Lara croft game without lara croft being playable: blasphemy

      1. We all know that for at least 60% of the game you play as a race swapped woman, not Alan. You know exactly what he meant, don't be disingenuous.

        1. Race swapped? He said you don’t play as him and you do. So racist sexists don’t like playing as a black women is what he meant? Oh no I don’t care

          1. "RaCiStS sExIsTs"
Now we have IGN moröns in here as well.
So is it ok to simply put a nogger wahmen to be the MC on a game called Alan Wake?
Go fvck yourself and shove your racism and sexism up your fvcking ärse!

          2. If not wanting to play as a particular race & gender amounts to sexism, then the entire gaming industry is full of racist man hating fem!nists and s!mps. Cause the mere sight of a straight white male protagonist sends them into a whining frenzy. Cause it doesn't bother them when main guy becomes the side character for the sake of some token woman.

      2. He is not the main character in the series that is named after him. The whole game is about saga Anderson and how she is the grand kid of the viking guys(who are white and she is black lol) and she has le magic powers and Alan is now a cuck.

        1. Clearly I came to the wrong site because there’s a lot of racist weirdos like you commenting. Yeah white people have kids with black people big revelation

    1. The reacts just goes to show where the woket*rd f*lths stand and their priority really lies. This is what legalized m!sandry looks like. No wonder trump won again with young men's votes. The rabbid m!sandrists and their c*ck s!mps need a course correction if they wanna come of as fair, highly doubt they will, they justify and legalize their m!sandry after all. Otherwise they can shove their gynocentr!sm where the sun don't shine.

  3. No improved FSR on PC or consoles
    No FSR 3.1.2
    No FSR3 Frame Gen
No improvement to terrible raster SSR visuals
No further improvement to general performance or RT/PT performance
No fixes for the repeated NPC dialogue in Saga's later chapters
Lake House has a locker with double doors on top
Lake House (and the base game) has several sections where boxes show on the map but they're either not in the game anymore or they're not yet to be spawned yet.

    Absolutely great game otherwise.

    1. And they keep delivering… You have a DLC where you can play as another "woman" as well. I'm still pissed about this game. Horror/mystery/thriller is what I crave the most in books/games/films, so this game was perfect for me until they destroyed it with DEI cancer.
Had to play it via YT so I could see only the parts that were less bad, the ones with the actual character from the title.
