After the success of the first Tomb Raider trilogy, here comes the second one. Aspyr Media has just announced remasters for Tomb Raider 4, 5 and 6. Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered will be coming to PC in February 2025, and below you can find all the details for it.
This collection will feature the following Tomb Raider games. Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider: Chronicles and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness.
As with the previous collection, this one will have slightly better graphics. Players will be able to switch between the original polygonal models and the remastered graphics at any time.
To be honest, I’m curious to see whether Aspyr has made any tweaks and changes to Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness. When it came out, Angel of Darkness suffered from a lot of issues. So, will the remastered version address some of them? For instance, the controls were awful in the original. Will the remaster have better controls and animations?
Aspyr has also shared the PC requirements for this collection. And, as you may have guessed, you won’t need a powerful PC to run these old Tomb Raider games.
PC gamers will at least need an Intel i3 or AMD FX-4100 with 4GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GT 620 or AMD Radeon HD 8670D. The devs recommend using an Intel i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 5800 with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA RTX 2080 or AMD Radeon RX 6750.

They can safely skip that vomit inducing Angel of darkness. Tomb raider 1-3 remastered was amazing though. Part 4 and 5 were always controversial but angel of darkness was always a dumpster fire
angel of darkness is the best one, it has one of the best laras and by far the best atmosphere and art.
Wrong, best version of Lara was in underworld, best character design as well. The controls in AOD are terrible even compared to past tomb raiders (and new tomb raiders). The gameplay sucked, the fun of exploring tombs was gone, the animal fighting was reduced. This game single handedly ruined the franchise.
i like the angel of darkness model. Underworld had a bike and brought back underwater sections the rest of the game was meh.
I'm 100 percent sure you haven't played the original games. Tomb Raider: Underworld and Shadow of the Tomb Raider are considered by most people to have the worst depictions of Lara and are by far the worst Tomb Raider games. Lara is supposed to be cold and ruthless, not a soft cuck. Everything made by Crystal Dynamics is complete dog sh*t, and only console players and controller users are rytarded enough to like those games.
I started playing tomb raider series when you weren't even born kid starting from tomb raider II. Tomb raider 2013, rise of the tomb raider and shadow all three reboot entries had worst depiction of lara, not just shadow of the tomb raider.

90% of the remastered version looks better than the original, some areas had lighting issues still but is it a big deal to press F1 and switch graphics ? Wow I wasn't expecting them to do three games in one package again. Revelations alone is much larger than any of the previous games and Angel of Darkness is from an entire different generation. That's pretty neat.
I hope they don't let Crystal Dynamics insert their crap trigger warnings and censorsh*t into this one.
true , expected them to hire mappers to make a new campaign because there are some pretty good custom campaigns for the game. I wish they went the gzdoom route by creating an engine to load custom maps with modern graphics and controls.

The controls are abysmal in this game.
I remember dying 50 times at the spider boos because the game targeting system was broken.
Only later on I've discovered that you can change targets by pressing some obscure key half across the keyboard.

There's a mod that fixes so many things, you have to have it.
For me, the atmosphere is unbeatable. It's both unique and reminisce of early 2000s games. It reminds me of games like silent hill and obscure 1&2 despite not being the same genre.

i was also looking for2 games for years, i scouted every site, checked every site. Eventually i run into the second one, it was a very grand strategy game so grand you can control planets and it was emperor of the fading suns. There was also another game a third person game in a museum that you control a bald dude with a trenchoat, it was guardian of darkness i found that on a subreddit called “tip of my joystick” where you can ask people what game you remember.

Most remasters are unnecessary other than compatibility patches to run on modern systems. A flawed game is the perfect candidate for a remaster and it is sad that people gush over games that don't need remaster instead.
I completely agree. So many pointless remasters that are basically "we ran this through an AI upscaler…. $60 please!". But a bad game, one with horrible controls or bad performance that could be fixed with modern hardware, those are the games that should get remastered.

Remakes and remasters are a sad indication of how creatively bankrupt so many once great devs are now, let's just cash in on nostalgia and shiny new graphics. The big con for how great the last remaster round of these old games was a good indication how easily this strategy is the lowest effort biggest cash grab.

This is fantastic for game preservation and making it accessible or even possible to replay classic franchises with some very needed QoL touch-ups. I'll always vouch for remasters of actually old classics. Keep em coming!
