The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest will get official Offline Modes

Now here is a pleasant surprise. Earlier this year, Ubisoft was criticized heavily when it shut down the server for The Crew. And today, the French company revealed that it will add official Offline Modes to both The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest.

Ubisoft did not reveal when we’ll get this Offline Mode. Still, this is good news for pretty much everyone. After all, you’ll still be able to play both of them even when Ubi shuts down their servers.

Ubisoft is also offering both of these games at great discounts. The Crew Motorfest comes with a 70% discount, whereas The Crew 2 got a 98% discount. This means that you can get it for $1. Now that’s a great deal.

Although I didn’t have a lot of fun with The Crew 2, I really enjoyed The Crew Motorfest. The Crew Motorfest is one of the best Forza Horizon clones. It does not try to reinvent the wheel. Still, it was a fun game.

It’s also worth noting that The Crew Motorfest runs pretty well on PC. The game does not require a high-end CPU, and it has reasonable GPU requirements. Perhaps my biggest gripe with it was its somehow low LOD. Even on Max Settings, there are a lot of pop-in issues. That, and the lack of some PC-only features, like DLSS/FSR and Ray Tracing.

In conclusion, it’s good to see Ubisoft making some consumer-friendly moves. One of the biggest issues gamers have with GaaS titles is the online requirement. So, let’s hope that other devs will follow this example.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. the crew 1 has a offline flag, all those canadian french cucks have to do is enable it. By the way for anyone who does not know there is a crew 1 server emulation projection being worked on and they have made great progress.

    1. This was almost certainly someone on an exec team getting scared that they wouldn't be able to sell these games or future microtransactions with people afraid the games would just get shut down and removed from their game libraries so they could never play them again.

It's the right move of course, but it wouldn't have happened without the potential hit to their bottom line.

  2. Guess the -7% shares slump with decade low net price & open letter from investors did the trick. Hahaha Oh boy! they're betting against their recent flops for a comeback with… guess what ?? AC shadooooo!
Lmao they're not prepared for what they're about to witness with this.

    1. Since when do shareholders or gamers care about PR?

I couldn't care less what people think of a company, as long as the products are good.

      1. Take the hint r3tard, their games in the last decade at the very least are crap (not to mention all the anti consumer bs they pull)…why do you think people hate Ubisoft? people's perception of the company affects sales regardless of the quality of the games anyways, and shareholders care about sales since is their money at risk.
The Crew 2 came out in 2018, suddenly they care about offline play? at the same time the company is dying, and they are praying that the next AC game saves them (it won't)… what a coincidence!

        1. Around 5.5 million copies of Star Wars Outlaws were sold. Not "everyone hates Ubisoft". You hate Ubisoft. And "hating" a gaming company is a pretty pointless thing to do, I suggest getting a life.

          1. A Star Wars game selling 5 million copies is plain sad, but i'm pretty sure the destruction of the Ip thanks to Disney helps…pair that with Ubisoft and you get a disaster. Ubisoft themselves already lowered the expectations for sales for that game, is basically a failure (they expected 8 mill at the very least).
If people don't support the company that makes the games you "love", then you don't get more crappy games.
Get some standards before telling me to get a life, crazy me i'm talking about Ubisoft in a post about Ubisoft.

          2. Yeah well, Ubisoft will still be there tomorrow, and the year after that, and the year after that.

The people who got you so worked up and angry about a gaming company are the problem, not Ubisoft. Social media/Youtube is not a healthy platform.

          3. You are telling me like you know me, don't be ridiculous. You are the one licking corporate boot like a drone…I'm just talking about the industry in a blog about videogames…maybe you aren't aware.

          4. I don't need to know you to know why you're acting the way you do. The whole business model of these youtubers/influences is getting you angry.

          5. Again, you say it like i consume social media. I don't.
Is quite simple, Ubisoft is failing at sales, due to years of making crap games or games people don't want. therefore the average costumer doesn't buy anything from them (quality is not even a factor anymore, just like EA or Konami)…on the other hand you like their games, the company is going to die…you won't get more games from them.
They are making you a favor. I'm just laughing at their well-deserved failure, their good games cycle ended in the early 2000s.

          6. Gaming mainstream media isn't healthy either. We pretty much have to look out for ourselves these days.

          7. Well, they do provide plenty of ammunition to shoot them with on a regular basis : )

Also, probably a lot of those sales were because of the Star Wars name. Lot of fans out there that will gobble up anything Star Wars no matter how mediocre it is. Also, Ubisoft stock tanked 10% once investors saw the lower than expected sales. They spent a fortune on marketing and it hasn't returned what they hoped. So….success it is not.

      1. The best that could happen is cleaning house, and changing the direction for sure, going back to experimentation making smaller games and new IPs and not doing reskins and variations of the same open world blueprint regardless of the genre.

      2. Just look at their linked in page, or any recruitment process page. No man is eligible to join. They specifically said only woman or identifiers are eligible even if they're worthless ubisoft will train them. Lmao. Just wait this year is their last

  3. This whole thing has been so overblown.

Ubisoft supported the Crew for 10 years with servers. SteamDB showed the Crew had just a handful of players left when it was shut down. Ubisoft was running a loss on the Crew servers.

Yes, Ubisoft could have made an offline mode for those 10 or so players, but this backlash was totally off the rail manufactured by Youtubers and social media posters.

Japanese gacha games often shut down within a year, Korean MMO developers have been known to shut down games within 2 or 3 years. Imagine someone actually came down on those exploitative gacha games, every weeb would lose it.

But Ubisoft is the bad guy for shutting down servers after 10 years. Youtubers, including that YongYeah and StopKillingGames clown, made a giant Fuss about it for clicks. Ubisoft = BAD!1!1

Anyway, good that they now offer an offline mode, every Youtuber can now stfu and find something else to rage about.

    1. Ubisoft didn't just shut down the game, they removed it from the libraries of people who owned it, essentially forbidding owners of the game from modding it to play via private servers after Ubisoft shut it down.

    2. THE GAME HAS A OFFLINE FLAG, ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS TELL US HOW TO ENABLE IT, but they wont because they do, we get the crew 1 which has better graphics and more locations than the crew 2 so no need to buy the crew 2.

Also yes ubisoft bad and stop killing games dude is right, you are a homosexual clown.

Ubisoft is only SAYING they gonna give offline for the crew 2 because people are making progress cracking crew 1 to make it offline with server emulation AND…. their stock is crashing and they are in the middle of a hostile takeover.

So no this is serious and it proves that the carrot and stick method works.

Stop simping for these companies, especially ubisoft, always attack them and criticize them and voice your concerns.

      You are a clown.

    3. Stop being stupïd and pay attention (difficult for a no-brainer, I know) at the post and the news about this in general.
It's not just about the servers shutting down, you morön! It's about deleting the game from PEOPLE'S LIBRARY!

      Fvcking stüpid bootlicker cünt.

    1. its too short of a time to shut it down you corporate dcksucker, also there is an offline flag all ubisoft has to do is tell us how to enable but they wont because once know this, we can play the game for free.

Also the only reason ubi is doing this is because their stocks are crashing hard.

      STOP SIMPING FOR CORPORATIONS

      1. it doesnt have to be online, they can just enable the offline flag. V rising was initially always online and they disabled it, warhamer 40k inqusitor martyr was always online and they patched and disable it, some first person puzzle game came out a while ago and flopped so they update it to be offline. Test drive unlimited 1 and 2 are offline despite being multiplayer focused games. The servers were taken offline but people found a way to restore online functionality, just like with unreal tournament that epic took the servers online and people brought them back online. In fact there was some free to play wizzard game that failed so the devs gave people the info they needed to run their own servers.

You sound like someone who never played a mp game with dedicated servers or local servers. I wonder if in the future people will think we never had offline campaigns because every game will be always online. The disaster that is the new test drive, not being able to connect or when you do, end up playing with bots is what we are trying to avoid. People still play need for speed underground you know, in fact need for speed world was brought back online by modders. Come on, stop simping for corporations.

        1. this is what the modder say, they have found the offline flag, they cant activate it, which means the game was made with an offline mode but ubisoft disabled it.

Ok so do what the forza horizon did and stop selling the game, like with forza horizon 3 but the people who own it can still play multiplayer with it and play offline, seriously you make yourself look worse and worse, leave the corporate pee pee unsucked.

          1. So where is the private server running the Crew if it is as simple as changing a flag? Where are the people playing it offline? Why is there even outrage to begin with?

You're making stuff up, or you're being mislead by the "modder".

  4. Nice try, but that won't change the fact they took that path in first place.
Btw… "The Crew 2 got a 98% discount. This means that you can get it for $1."
Still pretty expensive for that cräp.

      1. I agree. The first game had a plot but the second game is just about getting influencer points buy doing stunts in front of a camera.

  5. this is a good news and finally a good move by ubi…i buyed the crew 2 some years ago when it was on discounts at good price, is a decent game, not awesome handling, but the worse thing was full online, it was a pain to play everytime and impossible to do it when i was out of home with laptop. Probably i will play it again when they update with offline mode… and probably knowing this i will buy motorfest when will be into about 10 euro's like i payed 2…
