New Crazy Taxi

Leaked gameplay from Crazy Taxi Remake & Shinobi Remake

In case you did not know, SEGA is working on official remakes of some of its classic games, including Crazy Taxi and Shinobi. And, from the looks of it, some gameplay footage from both of them has surfaced online.

Before continuing, we should note that these videos are WIP. These two remakes are still in development. As such, the videos do not represent the quality of their final versions. Nevertheless, I’m certain that most SEGA fans will be interested in them.

The Shinobi Remake appears to be in a more advanced state than the Crazy Taxi Remake. Shinobi Remake will be a 2D game, and it already looks lovely. From what I can see, players will be able to double jump, climb walls, fight enemies, and use their sword to open switches.

On the other hand, the prototype for Crazy Taxi Remake is a bit more rough. According to reports, this remake/reboot will have both single-player and multiplayer modes. So, this leaked gameplay is from the MP mode. In this mode, MP players will have to drive their customers faster than everyone else. Again, this is a WIP video. So, don’t be harsh on it.

There is currently no ETA on when these remakes will come out. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

  1. Honestly, Shinobi looks rad! Crazy Taxi seems like a step in the right direction to keep the same core gameplay with updating it and making it multiplayer focused too.

This has me actually kinda excited for both of these games.

    1. Shinobi looks mostly finished, and by the looks of it it's by the same French company collaboration that did Streets of Rage 4.
Crazy Taxi is an obvious early build, you can even see a slide that says "Mission Ideas".

Likely a showcase build for investors.

  2. shinobi looks pretty much what i wanted from the remake but the animations needs more frames in between, that stuttery look is not doing it any favor.

  3. Utter trash.

I remember when PC was a platform separated from consoles and mobile. You got your money's worth, big games with Strategy, Turn-based, RPG, RTS, FPS,

Now we get this $1 mobile junk.

    1. LMAO!
What a load of BS. And those who hate stategy trash and turned based garbage!

I for one would not go near those POS games, and im a pc gamer since the 90's!

Thankfully Pc get ALL games now, as it should, so you can Keep that trash for yourself and be happy right!

      1. hate stategy and turned based

You might as well throw your mouse and keyboard in the garbage bin and go play on a console.

  4. Sega is my favorite gaming company (obviously), but they're becoming like Nintendo, just re-releasing the same old franchises all the time…

Both companies need to completely renew themselves.

    Here's an idea:
Bringing back the 80s/90s doesn't mean bringing back the same games from that period, with shiny new graphics.
It means bringing back the MINDSET that we had back then, which was infinitely more innovative, experimental and daring.
THIS was why games were so fun back then.

    1. Nintendo is only at the position they're at because of the nostalgia cycle, but I get what you're saying. Unfortunately I won't happen again due to the costs involved and the risks that come with that.

    2. I agree, while at least Shinobi really does look like it'll be fun, it's not enough to just bring back the IP and call it a day. It's the mindset and design choices, with interesting and new ideas and gameplay mechanics that really sold games back in the day.

Most of these modern remakes/revives of these classic series are so shallow. They rarely ever iterate upon the core gameplay style. That's what needs to change, and unfortunately it falls upon the devs, and most devs are just activists and not creative, interesting or enjoyable humans.

  5. Shinobi looks good, crazy taxi could be doing the right thing actually. But yah just gonna have to wait and see. Insert cringe assumptions and wierd malding about how games use to be here.

  6. Kind of disappointed to see a 2d shinobi, I remember the 3d attempt on ??? system. wanted to see something new. still good on sega.
