Modder ‘fromsoftserve’ has released the first HD Texture Pack for Bloodborne that you can use on PC via the PlayStation 4 emulator, shadPS4. This is a WIP project, meaning that it does not cover all areas. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
As fromsoftserve noted, this pack covers five areas. These are Hunter’s Dream, Central Yharnam, Cathedral Ward, Upper Cathedral Ward and Old Yharnam. To overhaul the textures, the modder used AI tools. So basically, he upscaled the original textures by two times.
You can download this HD Texture Pack from this link. To install it, you’ll have to copy the map folder from this mod right into your Bloodborne game folder. And that’s it. When you load the game via shadPS4, you’ll instantly get the new textures.
To showcase the new textures, fromsoftserve shared the following screenshots and video. So, be sure to check them out as they can give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect from it.
Speaking of shadPS4, I’m amazed by its overall progress. It appears that each and every day, its devs address issues related to Bloodborne. Just yesterday, the team pushed a new version that fixed the game’s reflections and shadows. Now while emulation is not perfect yet, its miles beyond what it was a week ago. And then, fromsoftserve went one step ahead and added dynamic shadowcasting for everything.
We’re getting closer and closer to Bloodborne being playable on PC. In fact, some of you may be able to play the game in its current state. Yes, there are still a lot of visual issues. But take a look at the following videos. The game already looks and runs great on shadPS4. So, by the end of 2024, I’m certain we’ll have a fully playable version of it.
On a related note, the team behind RPCSX is also gearing up for a big announcement. For those unaware, the RPCSX folks are the ones behind the best PS3 emulator, RPCS3. So, I’m curious to see whether RPCSX will be able to catch up with shadPS4.

It's been at version 0.2.0 for the past 3 weeks. Am I missing something?
The build gets updated sometimes multiple times a day, it's the Bloodborne branch you want, I think it's on their discord. I haven't tried it myself yet but the vids I've watched covering the progress have mentioned they're using a specific Bloodborne build, not the main one on their site.

What specs for 60 fps?
Unreasonable to predict at this moment, but given that the PS4 has very weak x86_64 CPU cores, not very high-end PC hardware, I'd guess…
Aren’t people playing this right now? They should at least say how it works on their machines.
3600 + 3070 for 720p 60 FPS.
People are playing it to test the emulator and help with fixes etc. It's far from playable normally, lots of effects and player death animations can crash the game, certain enemy attacks etc. Particle effects, certain lights and normal maps aren't working. Also, frame pacing is currently worse at 60 than 30fps. I've seen 5800 + 2060 getting 30fps with upscaled textures, so even at this stage it's not overly taxing. Give it a month or two.
