A few days ago, we informed you about Valve’s upcoming 6v6 third-person hero-based shooter, Deadlock. Then, one day later, we shared with you its first leaked screenshots. And today, we bring you the first gameplay footage from it.
This gameplay video is pretty short and of low quality. It also appears to be from an early alpha build. So, don’t expect much from it. I’m pretty sure the final product will go way better than it. However, this video will give you a glimpse at its art style (which will remain the same).
From what we can see, Deadlock will have a similar art style to Fortnite and Overwatch. As said, the game will be also using a third-person perspective. And, I’ll be honest here, it’s something that does not really interest me in the slightest.
Deadlock was previously codenamed as Neon Prime. In this game, players will battle on a huge map with 4 lanes. The game will also have usable abilities and items. Not only that but there might be some tower defense mechanics.
Deadlock is basically described as a mix of Dota 2, Team Fortress 2, Overwatch, Valorant, Smite and Orcs Must Die. And, these leaked screenshots basically confirm that description.
As I’ve already said, I’m not that excited about this game. I can see why Valve decided to invest in it though. Deadlock has the art style of Team Fortress and Overwatch, and I’m certain it will attract a lot of people. Let’s also not forget that this is Valve we’re talking about. So, this could be a big hit. Regardless of that, I’m not a fan of these games so it’s a hard pass from me.
There is currently no ETA on when Deadlock will come out. Hell, we don’t even know when Valve will officially reveal it. Naturally, though, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.
what is this crap, tram shooter?
wow. clearly there hasn’t been enough layoffs in the industry… it’s time to clean house like never before
Christ, that looks absolutely awful. It looks like something the moaners on here would come up with as “modern gaming”
Game is not even announced yet. Might not even ever get announced and get cancelled or could be a long way to go before its in an officially presentable state. Testers who leak in development stuff like this should be completely blacklisted from future testing opportunities.
Another Valve game that will have 1 million of added fake players like CS to be always on top.
Overwatch with BioShock Infinite.
im really not a fan of third person games unless its melee combat.
“AI, make me a bunch of extremely generic, derivative and boring heroes.”
”Say no more.”
Gaming industry at it’s peak!
This looks so incredibly bad and generic, with a cheap mobile look all over it.
These type of games are made with “iterative game design” where play-testers are used early-on to guide them, resulting in early leaks. This process relies heavily on copying already existing games.
It also reeks of cashgrab. Just by looking at the game you can infer it will probably have microtransactions, loot boxes, season passes, and other bs.
How far the mighty have fallen
oof… another zoomie game. pass
Valve, please never make HL3, you would just fk it up.
Never thought I would see the day when Valve would develop something like this?!
Valve was among the sweet baby clients
This looks and feels absolutely abysmal.
But since I always expect the worst, I’m not disappointed. 😌
